I heard crying, and looked to my right. Their Alyssa was, sitting in the passenger seat of my van. She looked up to meet my eyes with her own, tears fell down both of her cheeks while she grabbed my right bicep with both of her hands.
"Hello their" I told her with a wink. Her expression told me that it is was obviously not the right time for my amazing sense of humor. My van is resting in a parking lot facing a large screen which is now rolling credits.
I took my girlfriend, Alyssa, on our first date to a drive in movie theater. I'm not good at the whole 'feelings' or 'emotions' kind of thing, but I'm guessing that the ending made Alyssa sad in some way.
"Like.... Do you need a tissue or something? Cause if you do, I don't have any... Sorry?" I said realizing that was actually really insensitive after the synonyms left my lips.
"Oh my god Elijah! You can't be sweet or romantic for just one second!" She raised her voice at me.
"Well don't yell at me, and that wasn't really nice to fake cry on me like that." I rolled my eyes.
"Well excuse me for wanting a normal high school relationship, sometimes I think that you can't ever comprehend human emotions, for both yourself, and for others" she said while crossing her arms and falling back in the passenger seat.
"Alyssa, I'm sorry.... Sorry that you want me to be something that I'm not!"
"Oh, grow up dammit! It took you 3 weeks to finally ask me out on a date, and 3 months to actually ask me to be your girlfriend." She hissed.
"You moved here 3 months ago, Alyssa."
"And on the first day we met, it was supposed to be love at first site." She smiled.
"Love at first site? You have got to be kidding me, man" I chuckled.
"I'm not a man! And you can't say you didn't feel something." She whined.
"No I didn't, I mean you seemed nice, and were attractive, but I wouldn't take that too personally considering I think that about most people." I explained.
"What? You didn't feel sparked... Or anything?"
"No, and you know why? Cause theirs no such thing as 'love at first site'. It's a hoax, Alyssa. Love has to take time to form, it can't just be immediately." I started the engine and gripped the steering wheel tight.
"Aw, you can be a romantic! We've had time, right? Sooo, how do you feel about me?" Her lips where replaced by a large grin as my eyes widened. I cleared my throat awkwardly while pulling out of the drive in and steering towards the main road.
"Um.... I like you, which is why I asked you out in the first place." Her smile quickly faded. Did I say something wrong?
"Seriously? You don't love me?" She began to whimper.
"Don't you think it's a little to early for that? And we're a little to young to feel the way about anyone anyways" I said.
"No! Love comes however and whenever it wants to, Elijah. It doesn't have to wait for anything." Tears slowly began to extract from her eyes again.
    "Whatever" I mumbled.
    "Excuse me?" She asked.
"I don't judge beliefs, Alyssa. So don't judge mine, I'm not gonna try to turn you so that we both agree. I'm going to respect what you dedicate your life too, and you will do the same for me, okay?" I spit out.
"Don't tell me how to live my life you jerk!"
"What? I didn't-" she cut me off before I could finish my sentence.
"You are always trying to boss me around, Elijah, but you can't. I'm a grown an independent women who doesn't need a man like you in her life."
"Why would I want to in the first place? I was just telling you that I respect what you believe, and trying to get you to respect mine too, but apparently that's to selfish of me to ask so lets just drop it at that." I said defensively.
    "Your a liar!"
    "Don't call me that"
"L...I...A...R" she said making sure to pronunciate each letter even more loudly.
"I don't think we should see each other anymore, so I'm going to take you home." I blurted out, Alyssa began to cry and hit me in the bicep. "Ow! What the hell, dude? " I grunted. "Look, I'm sorry, but I can't be with someone who isn't respectful of themselves and others and even me." I said.
"I'm breaking up with you!" Alyssa shouted.
"But I just broke up with you, you can break up with me when I already dumped your sorry little bony white ass." I explained.
"Stop with your sorry little excuses, but don't feel bad, we can still be friends." She said while pouting out her bottom lip, and motioning of tears falling down her right cheek with her right hand. I pulled my van over to the side of the road. "What are you doing?!" She asked me in surprise.
"You know, I was still gonna give you a ride home even with your obnoxious pestering, but I changed my mind because honestly, I won't put up with your bull shit. So get out of my car and walk." I rambled.
"C'mon, that's ridiculous, I live like 3 blocks away and I'm wearing brand new heels!" She whined loudly.
"Just shut up!" I yelled while tipping my head back and rubbing my eyes.
"Fine! I don't need you!" She opened the car door.
"Do I get bonus points if I act like I care?" I asked while putting both of my hands up to both sides of my face and dropping my jaw dramatically. She then slammed the door in my face and turned around, patted down her skirt, then turned around again to start walking down the side walk while I was smiling and laughing to myself.
I could have handled that situation better, but where's the fun in that?  I thought to myself.
I eventually found myself in front of my house and pulled into my family's drive way, got out of the grey van, and made my way to the front door on the small porch. I dug into my left back pocket to fish out the keys and shoved it into the lock, twisting and turning the small device. I then opened the door to find Leo laying on his stomach, coloring with a red crayon in one of his coloring books in the living room. I shut the front door grabbing his attention, Leo lifted his youthful face, eyes sparkling, and the big, wide smile he always has crossing between his dimples.
"Elijah, your home! Come over here." He pleaded.
    "Why?" I asked him.
"I want you to color with me, I found this page you can do, I think you'll like it, it's got a bunch of different sports balls on it. And I can finish this page with the dragons on it," He said while gesturing towards the paper he is currently coloring "I've got a bunch of colors that mom bought me today at the store, you can use any one you want." He kept mumbling on and on.
"I can't right now little man, save the page for me, and I promise that we'll get to it some other time." I told him, he frowned.
"But you always say that, and we never get to it."
"Sorry, it's just been a long day, bro" I said while walking into the kitchen. Mom was rolling dough on the bar, so I walked over to her.
"What are you making?" I asked her. My shorter mother looked up to meet my eyes with her own brown eyes and large nose.
"Sugar cookies, but you can't have any till this weekend, when I cater your schools dance." She said looking back down, and continuing her baking process.
"Oh, I'm not going to that" I said while shaking my head and looking into the refrigerator.
"Oh yes you are, and you are going to support me by telling your peers about my cookies." She ordered.
"Um, no, that sounds super lame" I confided.
"Well too bad sweetie, because unfortunately for you, you don't have a choice. C'mon, this is my business, and it's not going very well lately. We need the money, so I need to be successful at this event to book more gigs. You know?" She said.
    "Yeah, I guess"
"Good, so how did your date go honey?" She said with her face lighting up. I shut the refrigerator door and turned to face her.
"I dumped her" I said with a very straight face while mom dropped everything on the counter in shock.
"Why? Alyssa is such a nice girl, and her mother is the president of the PTA at your brothers elementary school. If you two hit it off, then her and her mother could be friends, which might take a load off of my back." Mom laughed.
"So in other words, if I date a girl I despise, you get to benefit off of it."
"No, sweet hart, I didn't mean it like that, I'm sorry. Why don't you go finish your homework or something?" She bit out awkwardly as I left the room.
My mother has short brown hair, really thin lips, and green eyes. Mom wears skirts of all lengths, blouses, and flat dress shoes.
My father, who is at work most of the time, is 5'8 1/2 in height, and is a really big man who loves cigarettes and tattoo's. Dad wears sweat pants, work boots, polo shirts, and a clip on tie. The only place he is not bald, is above his lip where his brown mustache lies. Dad also has light blue eyes.
Leo has hair that goes to the middle of his neck in the back, it curves over his ears, and leads to his bangs laying on the middle of his forehead, his hair is also layered. Leo has dark blue eyes like mine, he wears jeans and t-shirts, sneakers, and usually a sweat shirt representing a sports team logo. In conclusion, Leo is a very handsome child.
I have brown hair like Leo's, except that my bangs sweep off to the the side, other than that, our hair is the pretty much the same. I wear jeans, hoodies, converse, plain t-shirts, and flat rim hats that support a video game I like. I have freckles, no dimples, and my left ear lobe wears a silver stud earring.
Anyways, I walked up the stairs to my bed room and sat on my bed. My bedroom walls are blue. On the farthest right corner from the door their is a dresser, and lyeing on top of it, their is a TV, a gaming system, remotes, and headphones. In the closet right corner to the door their is a bed with a lamp next to it. In the farthest left hand corner to the door their is a closet, and on the closet's left hand corner, their is a door. Also, their is a fuzzy light brown carpet spreading throughout my floor, while other minor devices rest upon it. I turned on my stereo, turned of the lights, and shut my door. Then I leaned back on my bed and shut my eyes. Before long, I lost consciousness.
    Screams.
