Hey Silencio. I hope you like this story. :)

I walk towards the training grounds with Kiba beside me.

We'd been working together for a few weeks. I was a little bit closer to Hinata, but not by much.

Shino....was Shino. No other way to put it.

Aparently the Chunin exams are going to take place soon, and Kurenai Sensei has recommended us.

When we arrive, Hinata, Shino and Kurenai Sensei are already there, and waiting.

"You two took a while," Kurenai says.

Akamaru barks.

"Three," she corrects with a small smile.

She teams us up for practice spars.

Shino with Kiba/Akamaru.

Me with Hinata.

She seems extremely shy when I turned to her.

"I...I don't w...want to fight y...you," she says shyly.

"Neither, but we have to," I say with a small shrug.

After our spar, we're both wasted, and we fall onto the grass with a sigh.

"That was fun," I mutter.

"Y...yeah," she says softly.

I turn to her.

"Hinata, can you tell me something?" I ask.

"S...sure," she says.

"Who do you like?" I ask.

I've had a crush on her since I first met her, and I want to know what kind of person she likes.

"W...well...I...uh...," she's shy as she stutters.

"You don't have to tell me," I smile weakly.

"O...okay," she says, looking away.

We lay there, silent, hearing Kiba and Shino having a fight a little ways away.

"D...do you want to g...go out t...to dinner with m...me?" she asks.

I feel my heart race.

"M...me?" I ask, stuttering slightly.

I never stutter.

"Y...yeah," she say shyly, a small blush on her cheeks.

"Sure," I compose myself.

"Meet here at eight?" she asks.

And for once, she didn't stutter.

"Okay."

That night...

I meet Hinata there. She's dressed like an angel. My eyes widen, and I feel my face heat up.

I had tried to look nice, but not as much as she has.

"H...hi," she says shyly, holding her hands together.

"Where are we going?" I ask, trying not to stutter like a fool.

She picks up a picnic basket from behind her.

"I...I was thinking h...here," she says, blushing.

"Okay," I smile at her.

We sit down, and she pulls out food.

We talk a little as we ate, and then we lean back to look at the shining stars and the glowing moon.

"Hinata?" I ask after a while.

"Y...yeah?"

"What would you say if you found out someone really liked you?" I ask.

She falls silent. I turn to her, leaning on my elbow.

"Uh...I d...don't know," she says shyly, her face heating up.

This is my one chance.

My one chance to show her how I feel.

I cup her chin in my hand.

"Hinata?" I say slowly.

She just looks at me with wide eyes.

"I love you," I say before capturing her lips with mine.

She tenses, stunned, and I start to think that I've done this wrong.

I start to pull away, but she kisses back, deepening the kiss, drawing me in.

I wrap my arms around her, pulling her close.

When we finally break the kiss for air, she stares up into my eyes.

"I love you too," she whispers.

My heart races, beating hard in my chest, as if trying to reach her.
