He hadn't planned on going up to the door. He just wanted to walk by, see where she lived. But when he saw that little blonde pressing her nose up against the screen, he had to make a choice. He strolled up the stairs, smiling and cooing at the little angel, admiring how much she looked like his princess. She was a little young, but he didn't want to hurt her. Just teach the mother a lesson. He opened the door, taking the little one's hand and leading her outside. But before he left, he had to leave a clue, something to tell them he was here. He took off his necklace, the one they took from him when he went to jail, and hung the delicate chain around the handle of the door, letting it swing shut behind him.

He scooped the child up into his arms and walked swiftly away, knowing it was only a matter of time before she noticed the missing baby. And when she did, he knew she would come for her darling girl.

And he would be waiting.
