It was a hot summer day. The sun was beating down on us, turning our skin a golden brown. We were having some fun while chilling underneath the shade of a palm tree on the beach, the sand between my toes felt so nice. My friends and I always came to the beach the first day of summer to get away from school and other things. Hayley and Rachel were talking about cute boys they've seen and gross relationship stuff. I rolled my eyes at them, knowing them they always talked about that stuff. Hayley had golden blonde hair that was dyed blue at the end, as if it was the ocean fading away and turning into a sandy beach. I always liked Hayley, she was the first person I met when I started school. She was always OBSESSING over clothes and new trends and stuff, she always drags me along with her. Now Rachel was a different story. She was the sporty kind of gal who was always playing some kind of sport. She's very competitive and loads of fun, but sometimes she's a bit too competitive. I still like her for who she is. I laughed to myself. I looked back over and saw something...or someone sneaking up behind Hayley. I immediately knew who it was as he dumped a hole bucket of water on top of Hayley in her Pink polka dotted bikini. She screamed and froze in surprise, then She immediately stomped her foot and turned around.
"Chris! Oh my god!" she yelled, I couldn't help but laugh at her. Chris started cracking up too.
"Hahaha! Oh my god your reaction was priceless!" he laughed. Hayley pushed his chest and crossed her arms.
"That's not funny!" she whined. Still hawlering in laughter, Chris wrapped his arms around Hayley.
"I'm sorry I couldn't help it," he said with a grin on his face. Chris had a full head of light beautiful brown hair. He had blue eyes like the ocean and a smile that could warm your heart any day. I've always liked Chris more than just a friend. It all started the first year of highschool. I was a freshmen and was sitting at the lunch table and I was playing with the special bracelet that my mom gave me. It was silver with emarld and amythest turtles on it. I was admiring the beautiful turtles that I loved looking at, when Emily, the popular, snotty bratt, whore, grabbed it from me. I looked at her, confused at first, then I lunged at her, making a grab for the precious bracelet I loved so dearly. She threw it to her slut friend who was sitting across the table. They kept passing it around, teasing me with it until it landed in Chris' hand.
"Chris! Throw it to me!" Emily she squeled, trying to get his attention. He threw it into the air, passing it to me. I grabbed it and quickly hid it from Emily and her shit friends. I came back to reality and watched as Chris was being chased by Hayley. Unfortunately my dreams of being Chris' girlfriend have been crushed since Hayley has already taken him. I pick up my glass of ice cold lemonade and drink some of it. I look at my hand as the condensated water dripped down my pale skin. I wipe it on my one piece swimsuit and run over to go see what my younger brother Zac was up to. Suddenly I heard something loud, piercing my eardrums. It all happened so fast. I heard people screaming, running to get off the beach. I saw Zac with his bushy hair in his eyes, trip as the water started retreating into the ocean. I realized what was happening. I sprinted over to Zac and picked him up off the ground. He looked at me, trembling in fear I moved his out of his face.
"Zac, Zac listen to me, listen to me it's important." I put Zac as I spoke to him.
"W-what's happening?! Are we gonna d-die?!" he said still trembling.
"Zac don't think about that, just listen to me." I said urgently. "I need you to run over to Chris, he's waiting for you at the hotel okay? Are you listening?" I kept my eye contact with him. Zac nodded vigorously. I pushed him towards the exit and he sprint, spraying sand everywhere. I look up as I dark shadow of water came up above me. I didn't even have time to scream before everything. went. BLACK.
My name was Jessica bliss, 17, black hair with hazel eyes. I was the few that didn't make it off the beach when the tsunami striked.
