The escape of the magical creatures

Ron was extremely irritated by Harry who had entered the Triwizard Tournament. Why should he be able to enter but everyone else under age can't? Ron found this very unfair and always tried to keep his distance and avoid all eye contact with Harry.

Another care of Magical Creatures lesson was dawning on him.

Hermione kept telling him
'they're not so bad Ron, Stop exaggerating'. Ron agreed with her that dealing with them was not as bad as potions with Snape. With that they set off down to Hagrid's for their lesson. Ron and Hermione were the first outside Hagrid's cabin and predictably Malfoy arrived with his familiar sneer firmly in place.

'Oh look boys, Weasley's got a girlfriend'. Crabbe and Goyle sniggered. But Malfoy had to stop there, because Hagrid emerged from his cabin, holding a teetering tower of crates, each containing a very large blast-ended skrewt. Hagrid set them the task of attaching a leash to them and giving them a short walk so they don't get bored in the crates.

'take this thing for a walk?' Malfoy repeated in disgust, staring into one of the boxes.

And where exactly are we supposed to fix the leash?'

'Roun' the middle' said Hagrid, demonstrating.

'Off yeh go then'. Every now and then, with an alarming bang, one of the skrewt's ends would explode, causing it to shoot several yards, and more than one person being dragged along on their stomach, trying desperately to get back to their feet.

The lesson ended abruptly owing to the few people whose injuries were bad enough for Hagrid to take them over to the hospital wing. Malfoy, irritated by the lesson, turned to Ron.

'why don't you and your mudblood girlfriend go to the library, Weasley?' Ron did not think about his next actions and pulled out his wand and Malfoy, spotting him, did the same.

'expelliarmus' Ron bellowed.

'incarcerous' screamed Malfoy.

'Levicorpus ' Hermione yelled. Hermione's spell was the only one to reach its target. Malfoy had missed but hit the blast-ended skrewt's crates while he rose in the air and turned violently upside down. The skrewt's had escaped in the castle grounds.

Ron yelled 'we need to get them back in their crates somehow before Hagrid sees what's happened'. Ron and Hermione tried various spells but nothing worked. Then Hermione stumbled across an idea.
'Ron you need to levitate them over the broken boxes and I'll use my mending spell to fix the boxes around them'. It took at least twenty minutes for them to get nearly all of the skrewt's back in their crates when Hagrid came into sight at the top of the hill. Quickly they put the last few back so that Hagrid would not notice anything. They let Malfoy go and he stumbled away back up to the castle. Hagrid arrived and he was surprised.

What'r yeh still doin' here?'

and Ron said 'We just wanted to stay with the skrewt's to make sure they were alright'.

'well tha's kind of yeh. Wan' a cup o' tea?'
