One morning I woke up and felt sick to my stomach. I was in a cold sweat and my hands were burning. I had no clue what was going on with my body and it scared me immensely. That morning as I got up from my bed I became dizzy, my strength gone, and I felt as if I were going to die.
'Maybe it's just the flu.' I thought to myself, but I had the feeling it wasn't just the flu. After I pulled myself together I realized the girl in my bed. I noticed how her skin was bubbly and oozing as she lay there motionless. As I placed my hand on her arm to shake her awake, I could hear and feel the sizzling from beneath my hand. She didn't stir or flinch.
That day the girl was rushed to the hospital, pronounced dead, and I was quarantined. My name is Garret Scott and I was diagnosed with a disease unheard of. They named it Acidus Absumo (AA). My blood was starting to transform into something more dangerous than man itself. The disease causes me to have chest pain, rashes, and random nose bleeds. I can't stay in the sun too long; I am at risk of internal combustion and have the burden of toxic skin. Anybody I touched burned. They told me my body had 30% chance of adapting to the disease and a 70% chance of dying.
When I was told of my chances, I didn't care. If I was cursed by this world with something so horribly dangerous then I must have diserved it. I would never have a normal life, I would never fall in love. Everything I could touch before will now melt beneath my fingertips.
So I lived locked away and quarantined.
