The Cheating Game

Chapter 5

Nick

 O-“So how was your night?” she smiled at me while she finished removing her makeup

 After Selena had left I had gone to work for the rest of the day and picked up Olivia at the airport a little while later. Now we were at home enjoying one of our lovely nights doing absolutely nothing. Sense the sarcasm there.

 N-“Oh it was great.”

O-“What did you do?”

N-“just went out for a drink and then came back home.”

O-“a drink?” she raised her eyebrow at me and then went back to her makeup

N-“Yeah, it had been a while.”

O-“We should go out for drinks soon, I think i'm free this weekend or the next.”

N-“Well that is great.” I gave her a fake smile and then walked to her, leaving a kiss on her neck.

O-“Nick what are you doing?”

N-“Come on babe its been way too long since we’ve-“

O-“I'm tired ok? Some other time.”

N-“Ok fine.” I didn’t even bother to argue and laid down on the bed, throwing the covers over myself and closing my eyes, thinking about last night.

1 week later

Selena

 It had been over a week since my night with Nick and honestly I hadn’t stopped thinking about him, which was quite unusual of me.  I had tried to let it sleep, and I was positive that soon enough I would forget. It wasn’t like we had any way of contacting each other.

 Today I was going out for a run on my day off from work. I really needed this to get my mind off of things.

 D-“i'm heading off to work, where are you going?” she said as she grabbed her things

S-“just for a run, i'm coming back to rest afterwards.”

D-“I get home late tonight, late night shift.”

S-“I might wait up, who knows.”

D-“you’re not going out tonight?”

S-“neh not tonight.”

D-“you haven’t gone out all week.”

S-“I don’t know I just don’t feel like it.”

D-“Well, maybe you will finally mature and stop doing it.”

S-“Shut up.” I rolled my eyes and grabbed my ipod and headphones “See you later.”

 I waved at Demi and ran down the stairs of the building and into the crowded streets of New York City. I needed to feel the adrenaline; I needed to forget about Nick Jonas.

Nick

 After Olivia rejecting me once again last week, I had been really distant. Ever since my night with Selena I had desired her way too badly, not being able to get her out of my mind. I wanted to see her, to kiss her, to feel her once again. But of course, she hadn’t left a number or address and living in the big city this was a problem.

 Today I was supposed to get home early with dinner with Olivia and one of her colleges and her husband, but before that I had most of the day off, all done with work. I was driving around the city, trying to get home, but the traffic wasn’t letting me get there anytime soon.

 I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the stirring wheel, thinking. I heard a honk, and when I was about to move forward I saw her. She was wearing really tight and short yoga shorts and a sports bra, her hair tied back into a ponytail. She was humming along to some music while she ran, guys staring at her as she ran past them, some even whistling or calling out stuff she would ignore.

 It was Selena.

 I decided to follow her; I needed to see her again. I followed her for a few blocks and just when she was about to cross the street I pushed my car towards her, making her jump, scared. I parked the car and got out of it.

 S-“What the fuck where you thinki- nick?!” she stopped dead on her tracks, surprised to see me.

N-“Didn’t think you would see me again did you?” I smiled victoriously

S-“Shut up you jerk, you almost gave me a heart attack there.”

N-“How have you been?” I ignored her

S-“I’ve been good, what about you?”

N-“I’ve been alright I guess.” I shrugged  “So, you’re headed anywhere special?”

S-“Just home, i've been running for a while.”

N-“Do you need a ride?”

S-“I think i'm perfectly capable of walking.” She crossed her arms over her chest and I smiled

N-“Come on don’t be so stubborn”

S-“Fine.” She gave in “Its not that far away though.”

N-“get in the car.” I opened the door for her and she rolled her eyes making me smile.

N-“So, we are here.” I stopped outside of the apartment complex

S-“Thanks,” she opened the door “So..”

N-“yeah?” I looked at her hopeful

S-“You’ve got anywhere to be?”

N-“not really, no.” I smiled

S-“you could come in, see the place.”

N-“my pleasure.” I smiled victoriously once again, following her up the stairs.
