Tom took a swig from his canteen and smiled, it felt great to be drunk; to be him in general. Nothing and no one ever got in his way and he absolutely envied that. The only thing that stopped him ever in his life, was Edd. Tom had the chance, to kill Tord, but Edd just wouldn't let it pass. Tord only had cared for himself, thinking he could just take over the world like nothing happened. Tom had knew something was wrong, but Edd still had a heart for his old friend, and he's pretty sure Edd still does; even after all of those horrible stupid things Tord had done.
Tom shook his head, trying to shake the thought of Tord out of his mind. He took another swig and sighed. Tom had gotten lost in his thoughts a lot, more than he could think. Whenever he thought about Edd and Tord, his mind hurt, and his body ached. He never knew exactly what it was, or how his thought process worked; but he hated it.
He walked down the empty street, the occasional litter rolling around from the wind. He just kept putting one foot in front of the other subconsciously. He stared at his feet, then the ground. It was like he wasn't walking, something was making him, telling him to do so. Where was he even going? He didn't know, but he just walked. He let his body take him where it was going. Did the path look familiar? No, but he was about to find out. He'd taken long walks before, so he was used to this kind of thing; letting his feet take over.
For a while, everything seemed fine, he had blanked out while thinking and walked to wherever it led him; until he tripped. He grunted as he hit the ground, the thing was, It was a soft landing? How? He got up with a groan not acknowledging that he had dropped his canteen. He stood up straight, looking at his surroundings while wiping his favorite sweater off from the grass. It wasn't anything he recognized. He was in a forest full of trees that's for sure.
He walked a little further, this time keeping an eye on where he was going and what was around him. Nothing but trees, but he didn't walk into a forest from what he remembered. But he couldn't remember, he was drunk and in the middle of a forest. When was there ever a forest in the first place? He turned around to retrace his footsteps to find the exit, but when he turned around, there it was. An opening between the trees that led to the building he remembers he was next too.
He looked back before bolting towards the opening. Sweet freedom, but something seemed suspicious. The closer he got to it, the farther away it had seemed. Tom ran faster and for what seemed like hours before the exit was no longer in sight. Again he fell to the ground, but this time in exhaustion. His heart was pounding out of his chest, and he was trying to regain his breath. He coughed and choked before rolling over onto his back. He had given up trying, because apparently his best wasn't his good enough. Not ever, when he thought about it. He'd try and fail, there was never any success. The only reason he kept going was because of Edd. Sure he had a funny attitude, and was never serious 98 percent of the time, but Edd helped push him.
He laid in the soft grass in the middle of what seemed like the woods. Looking up through the leaves in the trees and watching the birds fly by. Sometimes it was nice to let out your stress by doing absolutely nothing. Secluding yourself from the world and never wanting to know what's going on around you.
Tom stood up, placing a hand on his knee and grunting. Boy was he sure going to be sore after this. He looked around and up, searching for anything and anyway to get out of this hell hole. Hehe, HellHole, good times Tom smiled.
Tick tock, the time went by and still nothing. He actually started to feel tired. He'd been walking forever and honestly he wanted to give up, until he heard an oh too familiar voice. It was yelling.
"Edd?!" Tom screamed into the air, and the noise suddenly stopped. Tom waited for a response or even the voice to start talking again but it stayed silent. Was he just imagining things? It hadn't been that long since he got lost in here, right? Lost in his thoughts he could once again hear the voice, but louder this time. It seemed like it was arguing, but with what or even who?
He ran closer, trying to keep quiet so he wouldn't let it go silent again. Everytime he go closer to it though, it got quieter. The only time it stayed loud was when he wasn't moving. Is he hallucinating? He sat down where he was and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He sat there and listened, the sound quickly clouding his mind, and then he opened them.
He stood in his living room, 'Finally, home.' Tom thought. He must've gotten a little too drunk and passed out, giving him a bad dream. He looked around, and he heard the faint noise, but this time when he got close to it, it got louder. He walked out of his apartment straight into Edd's, to find Edd and; Tom paused. He looked at the other in disbelief. It couldn't be, he's supposed to be dead. He wasn't supposed to be here, he was supposed to be far far away. The other had looked almost as normal as before he shot him down except for the one thing that looked suspicious; an eye patch and scars covered the right side of his face. Tom was frustrated. The other turned and smiled at him.
"Tom!" The thick norwegian accent rang through his ears. He couldn't take it. Tom screamed and Edd and the Tord backed away from him in shock. Tord's smile changing to disgust.
"It can't be, you're supposed to be dead! How the hell did you get back into our house?!?" Tom yelled.
"My apartme-" Edd was cut off,
"No! This can't be real, I'm hallucinating, I knew that forest was nonsense." Tord took another step back and grimaced. Tom grabbed his hair, thinking a moment before quickly realizing that Edd was still in the room.
Edd stared at him in worry, and almost seemed as if he was scared of Tom. Edd held his hand to his chest, clenching his sweater. Tom sighed and looked at Edd, dropping his hands from his hair. He slowly walked over to give his friend a hug. He held his arms out wide before wrapping his arms around Edd and closing his eyes.
"I'm so sor-" Now Tom was cut off. He suddenly opened his eyes to find Edd gone. Tom only holding onto nothing. "Edd?" What the hell is going on? Tom thought. He didn't know what was going on, why was he thinking about this, how is this possible? He thought about Edd and himself, and how he saw Tord. Tom's breathing quickened and he quivered, shaking uncontrollably. He just wanted to be home for real this time. Tom wrapped his arms around himself as he slumped against a tree and tears started to stream from his eyes.
"Oh Edd, please..." He muttered.
