"Well good morning you two!" Kate teased as Regina and Killian woke up, still snuggled up on the couch.

"Good morning love." Killian replied to Kate, "And good morning to you." Killian told Regina, planting a kiss on her forehead.

For breakfast Regina drove to Granny's and got some bagels. She also stopped at the store to grab some cream cheese.

Back at the house Killian was getting to know Kate a little better.

"So what are some of the things that you're interested in?" Killian asked.

"I really like riding horses, and back in the Enchanted Forest I would always hang out with my friends." Kate said. "What about you?"

"Umm, I'm a one handed pirate with a bit of a drinking problem. What else is there to know?"

"That's all you have to say." Kate sighed. "I'm your daughter. I want to get to know you."

"I'm sorry, I just don't know where to start. How about I make you a promise?" Killian suggested. "After Regina teaches you to control you magic I'll teach you to sword fight."

"Really?" Kate smiled. "I'd love that!"

Regina walked in through the garage door carrying the bag of food. She set out the food and grab some plates before calling Kate and Killian in for breakfast.

After they had finished breakfast Killian headed out to go help David with some stuff at the sheriff's station, while Kate spent the day with Regina.

"So shall we start working on your magic?" Regina asked.

"Sure?" Kate said tentatively.

"There is no reason to be scared." Regina told her. "Let's go to my vault to start."

At the vault, Regina lead Kate inside and down the staircase. "Please don't touch anything."

When they go to the base of the staircase, Regina lead Kate to the main room with all of her spell books and ingredients for potions. Regina grabbed her spell book from Rumple out of a trunk, while Kate looked around the room. The ginger was very curious about everything there was to learn about magic.

"Okay Kate," Regina started. "So, do you have any idea what kind of magic you have?"

"There are different kinds of magic?" Kate sighed.

"Yes," Regina laughed. "Okay, so we know that you have control over fire, have you ever controlled any other elements?"

"No."

"Well how about you mother, did she have any magical powers?" Regina asked.

"No, she said that no one in the family had ever had magic."

"That helps a lot," Regina replied. "That probably means that you're limited to elemental magic, to be more specific fire. As you grow more powerful you may discover other elements but it's unlikely if you haven't already."

"Well where do we start then?" Kate asked as she twirled a strand of hair in her fingertips.

"You probably just need to practice over and over. Eventually we'll work up to you controlling your powers under pressure. But we should just start with some simple things like creating a fireball." Regina started. "Go ahead and give it a shot."

Kate brought her hand out in a fist. She slowly be hand to open it until her hand was open. Kate sigh looking at her empty hand, disappointed in herself.

"Come on, try again." Regina encouraged.

Kate began again, this time there was a little flicker of a flame in her hand, but it vanished. Kate tried a third time, anger quickly taking hold of her.

"Kate, you have to relax." Regina began. "Magic is connected to your emotions, you have to feel the magic inside of you. You can't just will it to happen, it's a part of you."

"Okay." Kate replied. She took in a deep breath bringing her hand back out in front of her. Controlling her thoughts and focusing all of her energy into creating the flame Kate began to open her fist. A flame flicker above her hand, and when she open her eyes she was filled with joy. "I did it!" Kate shrieked, and in that instant the flame expanded, growing too big for the beginner to control.

Regina immediately put out the flame with her own magic. Kate pouted at the ground, ashamed of herself. "I'm sorry," Kate frowned.

"Hey, don't pout." Regina said as she tilted the young girl's chin up so that she was looking into her eyes. "You did a great job. Like I said magic is connected to your emotions and you just got a little too excited. You're perfectly fine, but I do think that's enough practice for today."

Kate and Regina headed back to Regina's house, where Killian waited for them. He had stopped and pick up some food for dinner after he finished helping David.

"Hello ladies." Killian greeted them as he finished setting out the food.

"Hi papa." Kate smiled running to give him a hug.

"Well this is nice," Regina said looking at the food set out on the table.

"Least I can do love." Killian replied as he gave Regina a quick kiss on the check. "So how did you magic lesson go?" Killian asked turning towards Kate.

"It want pretty well. I learned a lot, and Regina taught me how to create a fireball. Wanna see?" Kate asked very proud of herself.

"Maybe later sweetie. I'd rather not have you burn down Regina's house." Killian teased.

After dinner was over Kate went upstairs to get ready for bed, while Killian helped Regina with the dished.

"So, I've been thinking." Killian began.

"Oh no, that's never good!" Regina teased.

"Hardy har har." Killian replied. "But I'm serious. I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out on a date tomorrow?"

"Like as a couple?" Regina asked.

"Well yeah." Killian smiled. He stepped closer pinning Regina's hips to the edge of the counter with his own. His arms wrapping around her waist.

"I'd love to." Regina replied.

Killian smirked as he brought his lips down to the crook of her neck. Lightly sucking on her skin while she moaned leaning back into his arms. Regina spun around in his arms gazing into his sea blue eyes filled with nothing but love.

"Shall we take this upstairs?" Regina grinned.

"Gods, I love you." Killian said before quickly crashing his lips to hers one last time before she ran up the stairs, Killian tripping over himself as he hurried after her.
