A little while later, Hadley and Clarke were sitting on the drop ship ramp and looking over a map.
"Well. How screwed are we?" Hadley asked.
Before Clarke could answer, Wells appeared from the drop ship looking worried, "To answer your question, Hadley, we've got problems as the communication system is dead."
"Great." Hadley sighed, "How bad?"
"I went to the roof and a dozen panels are missing. Heat fried the wires." Wells responded.
Clarke looked at both of them and responded, "Well all that matters right now is getting to Mount Weather."
"How did I know you were going to say that?" Hadley groaned.
"Look." Clarke pointed and drew a line with a pencil she found from who knows where, "This is us." She then pointed at the other end of the line, "This is where we need to get to if we want to survive."
"Where'd you learn to do that?" Hadley asked her.
"Your father." Wells answered for her and Clarke sighed.
A boy came up behind the three of them wearing goggles. Hadley whirled around and stared at him in a bit of annoyance.
"Oh cool. A map. They got a bar in this town? I'll buy you a beer." The boy winks at both girls.
Wells pushes him back slightly, "You mind?"
"Woah. Hey hey hey." A group of four boys come up to them and Hadley places her hand slightly on Clarke's shoulder which Clarke doesn't notice. One boy who had greasy slicked back hair and a rather attractive face spoke up, "Hey hands off of him. He's with us."
Wells held his hands up, "Relax. We're just trying to figure out where we are."
Bellamy was standing a little ways away with his sister and Hadley heard him speak next, "We're on the ground. That not good enough for you?"
Wells scoffed, "We need to find Mount Weather. You heard my father's message. That has to be our first priority."
Octavia glared at him, "Screw your father. What? You think you're in charge here. You and the doctor and your little princess?"
Clarke and Hadley glared at her but Clarke spoke, "Do you think we care who's in charge? We need to get to Mount Weather and not because the chancellor said so. Because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get and the harder this will be."
Hadley continued, "How do you think we'll last without supplies? We're looking at a twenty mile trek, okay? So if we want to get the supplies before dark..."
Clarke nodded, "We need to leave. Now."
Bellamy glared at them, "I got a better idea. You three go. Find it for us. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change."
