"Yes why?" He asked curiously.
"Oh because you did say it was business dinner and it's just you and me-." I looked around to see if this was a mistake but Ethan interrupted me.
"Oh that," He cleared his throat and looked around awkwardly before answering, "Erm yeah, they cancelled on me."
"What?" I asked in shock, "Then why still come if there was no business dinner?" I asked now really confused.
"I didn't want to disappoint you."
At that specific moment a thought buzzed around my head, was it possible that this whole business dinner was a lie to lure me in his trap. Trap meaning me sitting here right now with Ethan alone. I couldn't help but smile.
"What's got you smiling?" Ethan asked with amusement.
I didn't know where I got the courage but I did, "That I can't believe my boss lied to me so he could bring me to dinner."
"Oh is that what you think?"
"Yes." I nodded my head.
"Well your wrong, to get a table free at this restaurant is hard so I booked it beforehand and you do realise if I cancelled my deposit would have gone to waste."
"You have to pay deposit for a table?" I asked in shock. Wow I never heard of such custom to pay a deposit for a table at a restaurant.
"Yes, so please stop assuming idiotic things." He stated with seriousness.
At that moment I felt like an idiot for opening my big mouth. My shoulder slumped in embarrassment and I looked away from Ethan not wanting to see disappointment written on his face. The next thing I heard was a chuckle I snapped my head towards to see Ethan laughing. Oh great he's laughing at me, could this evening get any worse?
"Y-you s-s-should have s-seen your face!" Ethan spoke between his laugh. Once he calmed down, "I was joking with you about the whole deposit thing. Don't feel unwanted and upset." He smirked at me.
Argh! I feel like more of an idiot now, why couldn't I tell that he was joking? Oh yeah because he's too good at putting a serious face on, damn him.
I flicked my hair back and glared at him, "That was not nice."
He held his hand in surrender, "I was just joking no harm done." I couldn't help but smile at him.
"What would you like to order?" He asked softly.
I looked down at my menu which caused my eyes to bulge out, the prices were ridiculous. I felt bad for ordering something so expensive even though I know Ethan is a billionaire but still it doesn't feel nice. "Isn't it a bit expensive?" I looked at him uneasy.
"Don't worry about it, you just order whatever you like."
"Well I don't feel comfortable you paying ridiculous amount of money on a small tiny potion." His eyes soften due to my comment.
"Myra, I'm used to these prices so it doesn't make a difference to me or my bank balance."
I shut my menu and placed it on the table. "You can order for me whatever you like."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." He called out to the waiter and placed our order.
When the waiter placed my plate down with chicken pasta, chips and salad I immediately tucked in not even waiting for the waiter to place Ethan's plate down. As soon as the waiter went Ethan spoke," Wow you must be really hungry." At that point I realised how it must have looked like me stuffing my face like there was no tomorrow. I put my fork down and cleared my throat before saying sheepishly, "Sorry, I missed lunch so I was really hungry."
