"Ms. Smith, prepare the chambers." A voice said.
I'd heard that voice before. Saying that same thing every day...in his wicked voice. A loud buzzing noise was heard, filling the whole room.
"Chambers 10 and 12 ready!" The female voice chirped.
"Good. Now remembe-"
The voices were cut off by a bright light filling my cell. Excruciating pain shot through my entire body, my life flashing before my eyes. I heard another yell, this time not from myself...but from a distance. It got closer...and closer...until the pain got worse and the two yells became one.
Hello, sweetie. Looks like we've gotten into quite the mess, haven't we?
Who are you?
I'm part of you, technically. We've been fused.
And you're just relaxed about that?!
Oh, yes. My whole family's been fused before. I've never seen these idiots succeed once.
You mean-
Yes. My family's dead too. Now have a look at us. This-us...we're a miracle! No need to think about family! We could be all powerful!!!
We looked at our new body. Wait, we were both looking at it...through two sets of eyes! The creature's eyes were the bottom set while mine were the top.
My mouth moved-no, it spoke. "Oh! I see we've got one of these speech things!"
"Shut up." I snarled.
"Oh, share a little bit." The creature said through my mouth.
Share? You're an idiot. You're too happy about this! I was kid napped by these "idiots"!
Oh, sweetie. Don't go on worrying about that. You have to understand it's quite annoying.
I started to slap us with the giant taloned hands we'd developed.
The creature didn't react to this. It only seemed to hurt me.
You're the one with the nervous system here. Sit back and relax. They'll be here soon.
I sat. I thought of the stories my mother had told me about...gnomes, dragons, anything imaginable...
