"Jasmine!"
"Dammit Jasmine, take out your earbuds!"
Ok, I'll be honest, I can hear her I'm just choosing to ignore her. The annoying girl yelling at me is my friend Melissa, and if you couldn't tell by the yelling, my name is Jasmine. I'm 17 years old. I've been in and out of care ever since my mother died of a drug overdose. She died when I was only 10, my dad left me when I was 6. I will never forgive him for what he did, as for my living situation I live with Melissa. Melissa has bright white hair that is as long as her back, and blue eyes, she is beautiful. She is also a pain in my ass... but you'll see why soon enough. As for me I have brown hair that just grazes my shoulders, grey eyes, and I'm extremely thin. I am very under weight, I starve myself to cope with the fact neither of my parents have never even tried to help me. Maybe I'll explain more later...
Thump!
"What the fuck!" I screamed.
"I was yelling at you." She explained.
"So you threw your fucking book at me!" I shouted with anger.
"Yep." She said sweetly.
(Oh fyi I have a HUGE crush on Melissa, yes I'm lesbian but whatever)
"Ok then, what the hell did you want anyway?" I questioned her with a face that showed discomfort and curiosity.
"Look at our door..." she said, her voice was quivering.
At this point I had no idea we were already at our apartment, she held a brightly colored envelope with the managers number scrawled across the front.
"Well, open it..." I was curious at what the manager could want.
As Melissa read the letter her face went pure white, as if she had seen a poltergeist.
"Melissa, what does it say?" I question wearily.
"We got kicked out..." she said quietly.
"What! How! Why! Oh my g-"
"-She found out about the dog." She explained when she interrupted my questioning.
"Fuck!" I shouted as I banged my fists on the door.
We aren't allowed to have pets on the property, but my dog is my only family, Loki is a 3 year old American PitBull Terrier. He is my life, he was there when no one else was.
I quickly unlocked our door and rushed in after Melissa and slammed the door behind me. I am furious, I mean I knew the manager never liked us, but this is fucking stupid.
"Jasmine?" Melissa stated.
"Yea?" I said, deeply exhaling.
"What now?" Melissa had a hard time getting the sentence out with no nervous stuttering.
Usually I have a plan, usually I am confident. But now I'm not sure what we're going to do.
"Melissa..." I said slowly.
"Yea..." she said, her voice shaking.
"I have no idea what to do now."

HorrorWhat is the most common fear? Some may guess clowns, spiders, ghosts, some may even say heights. My answer is the dark, not the dark itself, but what lurks amongst the blackness. Predators use the cover of the dark to feast... who says others don't...
