To the Scientist's House

It was this summer that I decided to shift out of my parents' house. It's been quite a long time since I bought a house at an auction in another town.

"But what if you sleep walk from there?" cautioned my mother to show her disapproval after laying down a number of reasons about why I shouldn't move out of their house.

"Oh c'mon mom that's only when I watch horror movies, besides I didn't sleep walk for like five years. And that is the most lame excuse you could give me." I said, my tone rising due to anger and irritation. "Besides its high time that I stand upon my own feet, I mean I am twenty one and all my friends are independently living, I have a job and I really don't see why I should live under the shadow of you guys" said I in a calm and composed tone.

"Umm...I guess you have got a point there Alice. Maybe you should move out and be independent after all, and just so you know you are always welcomed here." My mother finally seemed to understand my point or rather she pretended to. Anyways I was all happy and went up to her and gave her a hug and told her that I couldn't have done it without her approval and thanked her for understanding and supporting me.

And so I started packing my dresses all happily and left for Delhi two days after.

I reached my beautiful nest the next day morning, the house of some old scientist guy. The house was a bit old but it looked anew and stood out from the rest of the neighbouring houses due to its style and design, clearly the house showcased the creativity of ancient architecture.

After I arrived in my new house, I really doubted if the whole moving out thing was a good idea. I was always a very lazy person (a genetic mutation as both my parents have never even heard of the world laziness!) and I felt lazy to dust and broom and clean that big house which was apparently filled with spider webs and other small creatures of which I am afraid to even think of or picturize in mind. So I slept on the soft velvety cushioned smooth couch that night and decided to do the cleaning job myself the following day as I was not rich enough to afford a servant that too in a town where I am new. I wonder if that scientist guy also slept in the couch due to laziness in cleaning, who am I kidding? That guy must have been a hell of a hardworker, well the big house at that time explains that fact you see.
