Sitting and shivering, in the stadium of the world championships, Lisa, Linda, Alex, and I, waited for the announcer to call Anne's name. "I'm so excited to see Anne and Concorde do these jumps!" Alex  chirped, pulling her sweater around her tighter. "It's so cold, How are you wearing a sweatshirt?" Linda asked Lisa, flipping her dark hair behind her ears and shivering.
Lisa looked at the announcer, a questioning look flashed across her face. "What's taking so long? I mean, really, we've been waiting for this guy  to announce Anne and Concorde, for like, an hour. I looked at the announcer himself, who stood there reading his papers. "And now, ladies and gentlemen, we will have our final competitor, Anne from Jorvik stables in Jarleheim, and her horse Concorde. Please welcome, the hiest ranking competitor in eighteen years!" The announcer called. Lisa, Linda, Alex and I, cheered so loud that everyone stared at us with frustrated looks on their faces. "Go Anne!" I screeched across the stadium, ignoring the looks I got in return. When our cheering died down, we stared at the entrance at the stadium, waiting for Anne. Anne and Concorde, did not come out. We waited for a couple minutes, and still, no sign of her. "What's taking so long?" I asked, beginning to get a bit worried. "I dunno, Anne's never late, It's weird." Linda said, adjusting her shoelaces. Alex reached into her pocket, and yanked out her phone. "I'm going to call her on her cell." Alex said, starting to dial Anne's cell number. "Good Idea, Alex." Lisa said, checking her phone for possible texts from Anne. "Pickup Anne, just Pickup the phone." Alex mumbled. Alex turned off her cell. "She's not picking up her phone, and the message thing didn't even come on." She said worriedly. Lisa put her phone down and looked at the stadium. "She hasn't sent me a text since yesterday afternoon, when she told me the exact time that she was supposed to ride." We all exchanged worried glances. "Maybe we should go see if she's still somewhere inside."
Linda suggested. "Looks like someone already had that idea," I said, pointing to a man jogging into the buildings.

A half hour later, we were still up in the stands of the stadium, but this time, we were sitting stiffly and worriedly. The man jogged out of the main buildings, a confused look upon his face. "There's no sign of Anne or Concorde, anywhere!" They're gone!" He shouted. "What!?" All four of us screeched, racing down from the stadium, just to make sure that was what the man had actually said. Even after he had clarified things, all four of us were pretty sure that we knew at least one thing about Anne's sudden disappearance. Dark core had to be involved.
