Strength & Courage

My Daughter......

My daughter is my Angel ~ an honest soul with strength of steel and loving heart so pure,
Bound within oppressive walls ~  no solace found just darkness which for now she must endure.
My daughter is my Hero ~ her smiling face makes demons run and darkness disappears,
Young at heart with iron will ~ yet masked behind her youthful eyes a teen beyond her years.

My daughter is my Knowledge ~ her intellect & prowess guide her studies to the top.
     Hunger to expand her mind ~ no subject barred she ploughs on through, the true cream of the crop.
My daughter is my Power ~ when darkened days pull at my soul her strength proves its downfall,
     Facing daily trials head on ~ knocking down all obstacles, role model to us all.

My daughter is my Virtue ~ steadfast morals that guide her path to which she does abide,
Daily trials to test her strength ~ with strong resolve & righteousness she finds a compromise.
My daughter is my Balance ~ each day is filled from dawn to dusk with rarely time to pause,
Darkness tries to cloud the view ~ but time spent in her company brings order to my cause.

My daughter is my Anchor ~ when shadows come with hope all lost she finds me in the night,
Sadness tries to hide my path ~ her purest light then guides me back & focuses my might.
My daughter is my Courage ~ pressure & harsh words from those who just can't comprehend.
Fuel the fire within her soul ~ robustly stating "IT'S MY LIFE" her actions then defend.

My daughter is my Artist ~ her depth of sight beyond this plain brings wonder to her work,
Creative she's always been ~ embracing different mediums she'll find that personal quirk.
My daughter is my Honour ~ despite the harshness of the world she stands by her beliefs,
     Standing proud with head held high ~ she'll fight for those not strong enough & bring them sweet relief.

My daughter is my Humour ~ her balanced view enables her to see the funny side,
Smiling through the darkest days ~ to magnify the smallest hope leaves sadness nullified.
My daughter is my Everything ~ since birth she's filled my life with joy & brightened every hour,
Distance keeps us far apart ~ the bond we share just strengthens & infuses us with power.

I love you Alex & will always be with you ~ even though sometimes you can't see me.....our time will be here soon, Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
