Five minutes later you made your way down stairs and headed towards the kitchen. The smell of food wafted towards you making your stomach growl.

Laughter could also be heard from the kitchen as you approached. Peaking around the corner you came upon a slightly amusing but also incredibly heart warming scene.

There in a frilly white apron stood Gaster holding a excited Sans up to a pot of cooking food. Papyrus was enthusiastically stirring the pot and Sans was sitting on the bench near his brother and father watching happily. Gaster wore an exasperated face however he didn't seem that angry at the little skeleton in his arms, even when he poured what would be considered a lot more then "one cup"  of sauce into the pot.

You giggled at the scene before you.

All three skeletons looked towards you in surprise. Sans face darkened, Gaster seemed surprised and Papyrus was beaming.

The little skeleton climbed out of his father's arms and ran over to you, "____________!"

You giggled as you kneeled down and gave the skeleton a big hug, glad that the cast was now gone and all that remained was a bandage as protection of the scar that remained.

"How's my favourite little chef?" You asked.

Papyrus giggled and puffed out his chest, "I made dinner tonight~"

You smiled, "I can't wait to eat it then. I bet its the best meal yet!"

Papyrus nodded excitedly.

You looked up and noticed Gaster watching you, his face seemed almost soft... happy even.

He noticed you watching him and turned his face away. You swore his face had turned a slightly dark purple dark colour.

You disregarded it though and instead decided to poke fun at the skeleton scientist.

"That's a good look on you, you should wear an apron more often," You told him as you eyed the frilly apron.

Gaster looked down at the apron, his face turning purple.

You laughed at the ruffled Skeleton.

Gaster turned away once again, "That would be counter productive." His voice was calm but you could tell he was embarrassed.

You laughed before Papyrus led you by the hand to the table. He dragged out a chair for you and you took a seat.

Papyrus took a seat beside you whilst Sans sat opposite of you. This left the last spot for Gaster to your right.

Gaster placed a plate filled with fabulous smelling food you had never seen before in front of you and the two skeletons before motioning for you to eat.

You took a bite of the meal and instantly felt strength and warmth filling your stomach.

Delicious

"This is amazing! You're a really good cook, Gaster," You declared.

Gaster looked surprised, "Thank you."

You finished the meal quickly as Papyrus and Sans began to tell their father about their day.

As the last bites of food were taken you stood and started to gather up the plates. A gloved hand stopped you. You looked down at Gaster questioningly.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"I was going to do the dishes, as thanks for the meal," You told him.

"You services are not required."

"I want to," You told him squarely. There was a moment where you stared into each others eyes, neither one speaking.

He has really pretty eyes... wait what? Why am I thinking this?

You felt a slight blush form on your cheeks but you didn't turn away.

Finally Gaster sighed and removed his hand from your arm, "Fine."

You smiled and continued to gather up the plates. Gaster dealt with the leftovers while you ran the water for the dishes.

Gaster waved a hand and suddenly a stack of papers floated from the lounge room and onto the kitchen bench. The scientist sat and began to read the papers as you started washing the dirty cutlery.

Papyrus and Sans had disappeared and returned shortly afterwards, both squeaky clean and dressed in the cutest pjs ever. Papyrus was holding a book and looking a little unsure of himself. Sans gave his brother a thumbs up and the smaller skeleton seemed to harden his resolve.

"Daddy, can you read to Sans and me tonight?"

Gaster looked up from his paperwork, he quickly glanced at you then the papers before looking at Papyrus once more, "Papyrus I-"

"If you're worried about me burning down your house or ruining your papers there's no need to. Go ahead and read to your sons."

Gaster was surprised but sighed, "Alright. Come sons, I will read to you."

Papyrus beamed and Sans raised an eye socket in your direction but smiled happily at his brother. The three skeletons made their way upstairs as you finished the dishes and waited at the table for the taller skeleton to return.

After about half an hour of waiting for the scientist to return you decided to go upstairs instead. As you passed by the second door you noticed it was open a crack. You peeked in and were surprised by what you saw.

Gaster was lying on the small car shaped bed that you assumed was Papyrus's bed, eyes closed and children's book lying open on his chest. In one arm was a peacefully sleeping Papyrus and in the other was a sleeping Sans. You smiled as you entered the room, you grabbed the blanket and draped it over the three sleeping skeletons. Smiling to yourself, you made your way to your own room before falling into a peaceful sleep.
