Composing

Whenever I am lonely,

Whenever I'm distraught,

I channel my emotions

Onto a piece of paper

And then I'm not so lonely.

Whenever I am rageful,

When someone does me wrong,

I channel my emotions

Onto a piece of paper

And then I'm not so rageful.

Even when I am joyous,

And I have the world in the palm of my hands,

I channel my emotions

Onto a piece of paper

And then I feel even more bliss.

Because each note understands how I feel.

Each phrase reflects a thought.

And each song is a caring, compassionate, friend

Who I can always count on
