"Mom? Dad?" I say, looking around the dark house. "They aren't there Zemmy." Jordan says. "Why did he do that?" I ask, sobbing.

"Let's go back. It's past your bedtime anyway." He says. "When will they be back?" I ask. "Soon." Jordan replies, taking hold of my hand. He pulls me out of the abandoned house.

I let go of his hand and run towards my favorite spot. "Zemmy! Come back here." He calls.

"I'll be back soon." I say, running.

I run till I reach the river, only to see that I wasn't alone there. Ignoring the stranger, I sit on the riverbank, thinking of the time when Dad said that he would bring me here soon.

"Everyone has to go, you know." The stranger says. "That haven't gone. They'll be back soon." I say, smiling at him. "Don't abandon the ones who are with you, waiting for those who left you to come back." The stranger says and goes away.

I did exactly that. I abandoned everyone. Even myself. But the wait never ended. A month. A year. A decade. I gave everything up, just waiting, until I forgot what I was waiting for.

And then one day, the wait ended, but I did not get what I was waiting for, instead what I got inspired me to wait forever.
