Dragon Beginnings

A long time ago, when the Earth was still quite young, there came a huge storm that went global. After many years of the storm, it finally came to an end, creating a vast flash of colors surrounding the Earth. As this aura began to fade, different elements (such as fire, water, and earth) were brought together at the end of this disappearing light. These combined elements fused along with the colors' energy and ended in the form of an egg. This egg would soon hatch into the first dragon -- the rainbow dragon.

Somehow, after his hatching, this dragon already knew how to use miraculous powers of creation. It is believed that he first created origin dragons, which most draconologists theorize to be the ancestors of all original dragon species, or that they were used as "templates" for their creation. He might have fused these origin dragons with pure elements (such as fire and water) to create more powerful and elemental dragons. It is believed that he intended for there to be a balance between the powers of these dragons and their effects on the world around them. As these varied dragon species grew and lived they began to breed with one another, creating unique new species.

Then they came... The humans...

At first, these "medieval" people hated dragons because they ate their livestock or terrorized their settlements, so they usually slayed them. Then, some people began to realize that these dragons could be used for effective purposes, which would mean taming, and so others encouraged this idea and carried it out -- though, there were still always those who opposed such actions.

More time went by, and the dragon population began to significantly decrease -- most likely due to the rapidly growing human population. We don't know much about their whereabouts today, but we know that at least they still exist.

Our story begins in a fantastical world, one of unimaginable qualities.
