Chapter 8

Steve's POV

Grace cried herself to sleep in my arms but I can't blame her because of how long she has been running to protect herself from being sex trafficked, that takes a lot of bravery.

I carried Grace upstairs and laid her on my bed and covered her with the blankets. I headed downstairs to the kitchen where Danny, Chin and Kono were hanging out. They look at me and I knew exactly what they wanted to ask...

Kono: How is Grace?

Steve: She's asleep, but the shock from running for three weeks has caught up with her

Danny: I really don't like seeing Grace like this, I want to hunt down her father and put that idiot behind bars. just seeing Grace reminds me about my daughter and when she was taken by Rick Peterson

Steve: yeah I hate seeing her like that and she doesn't have a father figure to look up to and that really bothers me.

Kono: we can come up with a plan tomorrow but right now I need to get to bed or else I am not going to be a happy person tomorrow

Everyone agreed that they were going to get some sleep but I decided to stay up to work on paperwork.

Grace's POV

I woke up at 3 am and I wasn't able to fall asleep so I get up and head downstairs to see Kono sleeping on the couch, Danny and chin were asleep on lazy boy chairs. I walked into the kitchen to see Steve working when he looked up at me.

Steve: hey what are you doing up

Grace: I couldn't sleep, I guess I just have a lot on my mind.

Steve: that is understandable but Grace I need you know that we will everything in our power to put your father behind bars so he won't touch you again

Grace: what will happen after that, where will I go

Steve: you are going to move in with me, the team really has a liking for you which makes you part of our Ohana (family)

Grace: I don't even know what is like to be loved the way you love your team

Steve: Grace, There are a lot of things about you that remind me of myself,
I can't really explain it

Grace: Well we should figure that out as soon as possible.

Steve: just know you will alway be Ohana
