The waves rolled and crashed onto the shore continuously, a beautiful thing to witness. Finally, I had done it. I had adventured outside of these walls and to the place of my dreams. But there was one thing missing.

Him.

It was nothing to begin with, all silent, nothing out of place, everything untouched. That's when I heard it. The screaming, the loud, unbearable footsteps booming my way. I knew, I was at death's door.

I abruptly stood up, shivering in fear as the thuds becamex louder, and louder. My eyes darted across the room, towards the gear and swords which lay in the corner.

I dashed across the space and grabbed them, throwing them on with great difficulty. "Goddamnit!!!" I yelled in frustration, struggling with the belts and ties. I glanced over at the door as I heard it click. "J-Jean?" I looked at the tall slender boy who walked in. "What are you doing here... we have to go, now!" I yelled at him, worried and frustrated.

"I came to check if everyone was out of here..." he said and looked me in the eyes. "Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt now, would we?"

I froze up. Did he actually care if I lived or died? I looked back down at the gear I had half put on and sighed.
"I can't get the gear on!" I said, panicking.

A heard a soft. Chuckle escape Jean's lips and I stared up at him. "Please. Help me." I said, struggling beyond belief.

Jean smiled and began to help me attach the gear and fasten the belts, tying it on intricately.

Why did he want to help me? What use was I in an attack like this, there was no time to come up with some detailed plan of attack. What was his drive?

I looked down at the ash haired male in shock. "T-thanks Jean..." I muttered, my eyes wide, this wasn't the Jean I knew.

"No problem." The words flew out of his mouth as he walked slowly towards the door.

My eyes were still focused in his direction. How could someone like Jean ever want to help me?

I sighed, I was overthinking things, and I needed to get out here as soon as possible. I ran out of the door, not looking back.

What awaited outside for me was true hell. I glanced up at the large, terrifying, humanoid creature looking down at me with its piercing and deadly stare.

I shook in my boots, extremely nervous. One thing was sure, I didn't want to die, not here. I ran the other direction, darting nimbly towards the others.

My head span in circles as I saw the Titan jerk into motion, chasing after me. It was an abnormal. Out of all the places, why did there have to be a bloody abnormal here?!

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, trying to escape the terror that was behind me.

When suddenly, I saw it, or should I say them?

Jean. He swooped in behind the abnormal and sliced deeply into its neck, taking a large chunk out of it, and placing it back to hell.

I looked up at Jean with complete and utter shock. "J-jean? What are you doing?" The exact same words as earlier. I walked nervously up to him. He was standing in the remains of the fallen Titan, staring at me with those beautiful eyes. Was I beginning to develop feelings for him? Jean of all people?

"I was just saving you... you should at least say thank you." He teased.

I abruptly ran up to him and pulled him into a tight hug, not caring if anyone saw or judged me. This boy had just saved my life, and I was overly grateful.

"Thank you Jean. Thank you so much." I looked into his eyes, a pale blush lit upon my cheeks as I hugged him tightly.

"You saved my life..."

That wouldn't be the only time those words came out of my mouth.

He was my hero.
