Kise POV

'A picture must never be abrupted by the observer, only cherised.'

The endless breeze had a swifter rhythm than my heart.

It was shining brightly; the suns glow radiantly morphed everything under a wonderous glow. The sounds of the bats echoed and weaved their way into the serenity of the atmosphere. Everything was warm, and she was in the centre of it all.

I watched her run. Her focus void of any distractions — she looked neither at the half-way stomp, not the direction or velocity her shot was sent at: only the 4th post marking victory.

Everything about her I admired. The way her hair drifted perfectly in the wind; the unyielding determination; the acceleration at which only quickened the more her talents surfaced.

In no time my thoughts were lost — until she passed the last base calling the win: as if it wasn't already called for.

By the time she grabbed her stuff, the opposing team had only just fed her hit to the baller. I smiled whole-heartedly.

"You were amazing!" I complimented, watching her figure walk over — her eyes swarmed in content, elegantly meeting mine in a smile — to where I was confidently applauding her.

"Thanks, Kise." Her reply was neither full of guster nor unappriciation, for she took the water I glady presented her. She took no notice to the girls eyeing her — even though they were respecting, and just a tad bit jealous. I always wondered what people thought of her — did they look up to her as much as I did?

(F/N) breaks my thoughts, returing the drink I bestowed to her; eyes meeting mine, she sings: "Wait here. I'll just go and get changed."

I nod, not missing a moment.

"Alright."

Readers POV.

'I wanted nothing more than to caress the warmth of the sun. Yet did my sun ever glow for me?'

Your arms pull the t-shirt over your head, allowing your hair to flop and stroke the curves of your shoulders. Your phone beeped, mirroring a smile; the screen showing a missed phone call that you promised you'd answer later. Grabbing your bag, you sigh as every noise resounded throughout the interior of the changing room.

You never missed a game. How could you — thoughts deemed it untrue in the name of pride, but it was apparent that your team needed you.

(F/N) was the legendary all rounder after all. Top grades, sport prodigy, magnet for talent, but it's not like you let that get to your head.

Stepping outside, you see none other than your best friend: Kise Ryouta. According to your brume of classmates, 'It was a bit weird' how you were the only girl he hung out with at Kaijo High, but nothing seemed wrong about it to you. With certainty, it was true they were jealous; as usual you'd shake your head with a slight laugh, saying 'It's not like that.'

Kise waved to you, and you walk over, moving the hair away from your face. As usual, the Basketball players uplifting ambience shrouded you, erasing any worries.

"You were great today, (F/N). I'm glad I could come and watch."

Your eyes glance over his figure: broad shoulders, muscular physique, daziling orbs that lit up when he was beside you. When people think of the ideal boyfriend, it's this guy, right? The thought made you repeat your thinking.

"Me too." Was your reply, laced in gratitude. Fiddling with your bag straps you stroll beside the Model, pondering a muse of notions. "Are you going home?"

He tenses beside me, making me turn to him. Our footsteps mark the pace of our mental rhythm; Kise scratching the back of his head — which accounts to nothing but the ideal that it only adds to his handsome nature.

"I was planning on taking you to Maji Burger — the team's there, if you wanted to come along—"

You stop, sending him an apologetic smile. "I have to get home." You pretend you don't see his aura deflate. "I'll see you tomorrow though."

He grins at you, but you knew all to well that It was forced.

"See you then!"

You pretend you didn't hear his heart ache.

'Love echoed the sun: life, yet death. Warm, yet relentless.'

You threw your bag on the bed, heaving a sigh, melting into your bed sheets.

Seeing Kise like that broke you. Just knowing that one response could tear him apart made you fear the worst of yourself. Only recently would he start looking sad once you'd decline him; only recently had Kasamatsu eyed your reactions; only recently had Kise trained and studied harder; only recently.

Your eyes dart to your phone. Picking it up, your hands trace the name of the caller ID gently: which such care you didn't know you had. Clicking it, your heart trembles slightly in anticipation.

"Yo, you finally picked up! How was the game?"

His voice eased your mind. Picturing his facade made you smile, and you grabbed a pillow, grinning sheepishly. "We won. It was a great match." You swear you heard his inward laugh over the phone, as to say 'that's surprising.'

"What was the score?" You loved the sound of his tone: low, attractive, chilling.

"Well..." You laugh lightly, falling on your bed. "16—2..."

"Seriously? That's not even funny."

"It really was fun." You voice, yawning slightly. You pictured Kise watching from the sidelines and it gave you goosebumps — sitting up, you ease into the phone. "What about you? Something up?"

Your voice lingers over the line for a moment. Just a moment. For just a moment, his breath hitches.

"Can you meet me tomorrow?"

Your eyebrows raise in curiousity, eyes serious. "What happened this time, Kagami?"
