"Hey Lexie!"
"Hi Lex!"
"Wassup girl how ya doing?"
"Hi!" Lexie chirped in reply to everyone in the halls saying hello. She was in a great mood today. After all, today was the day she would be moving to her bigger, better penthouse! She grinned as she skipped down the hallways and waved at the people passing by. When she got to her locker, her best friend Sofia casually walked up to her as she did every day.
"Well you sure look happy today. What's up?" She asked with a smile.
"Well since daddy got that new job involving all of those celebrities, he got a huge raise, so we're moving into a bigger penthouse!" She exclaimed in reply.
"Sounds great" Sofia chuckled. Lexie grinned at her response, but as she looked around at the people standing next to her, her smile started to slowly fade. The people who were once smiling weren't smiling anymore. They were rolling their eyes in annoyance, it seemed. But that couldn't be true! She thought to herself. Everybody likes me!
"Hey soph," she whispered. "why are these guys rolling their eyes at me?" Sophia glanced around at the people still rolling their eyes.
"Oh sweetheart, they aren't. I think you're just imagining things, like the devil is trying to ruin your perfect day. Brush that aside. See? No ones rolling their eyes anymore! They love you!" She said suspiciously loud. Lexie looked around and saw that everyone wasn't rolling their eyes. They were smiled at her whenever she looked at them. Huh. She thought. I could've sworn they were rolling their eyes. She turned back to Sophia and put that smile right back on her face and giggled
"You're right. They probably do love me."
"Of course they do. Now come on we need to get to class." Sophia smiled. Lexie grinned in return, but she still couldn't shake the feeling that everyone was annoyed at her for some reason. But since she couldn't quite place her finger on exactly what it was, so she shrugged it off and walked into her first period class, ready to start the fantastical day ahead.
