{Where I'm From}

I'm from hand sanitizer and flowers filling my nose;

Swimming every day, hearing "splish splash"

From frogs hidden in the water.

Catching them, I put them in the wet grass.

I'm from BGA, blue and gold pom-poms

I'm from peaceful, calming music coming from the trees.

I'm from slurping down the chocolatey goodness

Of a milkshake.

I'm from "Have you brushed your teeth?" and

"Do your homework!"

I'm from soft meows coming from the shaking bushes.

I'm from responsible and determined.

From unknown technology beeping in the distance

I'm from childhood memories,

A colorful bear named Rainbow.

I'm from farming, hearing the loud crackle of a tractor.

I'm from Robin and Cary's branch

Nosy siblings and barking dogs

I'm from fresh home cooked meals and talkative parents.

I'm from the beach and country life;

Shells and trees calling to me in the wind.

Okay, so so that probably wasn't the best (I was in 7th grade when I wrote it), but I felt kinda bad for leaving this collection of short poems just dormant...

But for my Honors English Class, we are in our Poetry unit (Yay :D), and we have to write 7-8 poems, so I may put those up on here...I don't know yet *shrugs*

Thank you for reading :)
