Down the Rabbit Hole

"Alice wait!" a voice drifts down the almost empty hallway, i check my phone the time reads 2:06 i shut the screen off and toss it in my bag while doing so i look up and smile. I see my best friend Sebastian run down the hallway headed towards me. "i figured you would have left without me" he says as he nears me "really Sebastian when have i ever left you behind?" i ask him as we turn to walk down the hallways to the main doors of our high school. "never but still" he says as he opens the door for me. as i step outside into the late October afternoon shiver and say to myself "good job Alice you choose the perfect day to wear a tank top and forget your jacket". "thats not like you Alice you never forget your jacket" Sebastian says as we walk home. "well i wouldn't have forgot it if somebody hadn't been rushing me this morning" i playfully glare at him. "sorry i didn't want to be late for Mrs.Smith's class considering she hates me so i don't think me being late would have been a big deal but you on the other hand well she adores you so if you walked in late with me she would have been pretty pissed off and wouldn't let us forget it" he states. "i know i know and i thank you for that" i say while reaching for my phone, i open the screen to see a message from my partner in crime Carli "hey sorry can't hang gotta babysit tonight maybe tomorrow" i sigh as i read the message i throw my phone back in my bag. "Okay whats up" Sebastian stops and looks at me i see his blue grey eyes staring at me. "its Carli she was suppose to come over and spend the night but had to change plan's on account of last minute babysitting gig" i inform him. A look of joy seems to pass over his face but then it disappears and he says "oh..i'm sorry but hey if you want the theater is playing "The Nightmare Before Christmas" tonight you know for Halloween i have an extra ticket if you wanna go watch it with me" he says somewhat shyly i smile at the thought of the movie its one of my favorite Tim Burton Movies i've seen it like a million times. "really you wouldn't mind sitting through a movie that i know by heart and put up with me lip syncing to the entire movie?" i ask him. he stands still before running a hand through his curly brown hair. I've known Sebastian for three years ever since i moved to Springfield Ohio he's been one of my best friends since i moved and I've also had the biggest crush on him i stand there and look at him he's a bit taller than me  about 5'5 and he's got short curly brown hair and blue grey eyes and this adorable smile and whenever he walks the halls in school girls heads turn to look at him i'd love to tell him how i feel but i don't think he'd feel the same way about me and probably think i was crazy and never speak to me again. "yeah i don't mind i mean as long as we have fun thats all that matter right?" his voice drawing me out of my thoughts "yeah your right well i better get ready text me when your outside okay" i tell him realizing that we had stopped in front of my house "i will it starts at 7 so i'll be here at around 6:45 he say while hugging me. i hug him back say goodbye and unlock my front door my mom and dad are at work so i have the place to myself for a while. i head upstairs and down the dark teal hallway to the last door on the left my room. I open the door and i'm instantly greeted with the familiar smell of vanilla my favorite i step into the giant ocean blue room and close the door and walk over to my speaker and plug my phone in and turn on "Her name is Alice" by Shinedown (the song up above if you want to listen to it) i open my closet and look for a long sleeve shirt to wear. "Ding" my phone goes off i look at the clock on the wall and the time says 3:30 i l walk over and see a message from Carli "hey you alive?" i laugh as i read the message and reply A: sorry i was walking home with Sebastian C: ooh so how's asking him out going? A: well thanks to you having to babysit i'm going to the movies with him later. i put my phone down and head back towards my closet a few minutes later "Don't make me feel low Don't make me feel low" starts blasting from my phone i walk over and answer it "TELL ME EVERYTHING" i hear Carli practically yell into the phone. i laugh and explained "well thanks to you canceling on me he said he had an extra ticket and wanted to know if i wanted to see it with him". "OMGS YOUR GOING ON A DATE!!" she screams excitedly i hold the phone away from my ear for a minute till she calms down. "No we're going as friends he never once said anything about it being a date besides, i highly doubt he even likes me more than a friend" i glance at the time "6:00" damn time flies. "shit i gotta go he's gonna be here soon i promise full details when i get home" "okay text me later bye" she says and hangs up. i rush towards my closet trying to find a shirt when i hear "i heard you crying loud all the way across town" i smile and sing along to When I Come Around by Green Day. Finally after ten minutes of searching i found the shirt i had been looking for a soft long black sleeved pullover that read "SLeeping With Sirens" and the band logo on the front in white i slip it on brush my shoulder length blonde hair quickly lace up my black high top converse and head downstairs. the clock on the stove reads 6:40 "perfect i have five minutes to calm down and get ready "ding" i open my phone to see a message from Sebastian "i'm here" i sigh and say "well there goes my plan of calming down". i text my mom where i was going and when i'll be back and head out the door Sebastian is leaning up against the tree just outside my house  i smile and walk over to him and say "hey" he looks at me for a moment and says "hey you look great you ready to go?" "Yeah and all i did was change my shirt" i tell him. as we start walking toward the theater i tell him about my day we only have one class together so i don't get to see him much during the day except for our class and lunch. i tell him about how there was almost a fight in algebra and how i had to stay after class because of it "i wasn't even the one's getting into the fight i just had to give a statement since we had a sub" i tell him as we reach the theater. "i'll be right back" i tell him as he pays for our tickets i head toward the bathroom and text carli saying "bout to start the movie" her reply "Go get some girl" i laugh as i head back out into the lobby towards Sebastian as i get closer i notice Blake Carli's boyfriend Talking to Sebastian Blake was the star baseball player you know typical high school jock except unlike most jocks Blake didn't sleep around with the cheerleaders he was a more down to earth realistic jock he's got wavy brown hair that reminds me of coffee after you add cream and sugar to it he's built like a baseball player as well tall figure broad shoulders the whole nine yards. as i reach the guys i say "Blake funny seeing you here" he turns to me and smiles "Hey Alice i'm here with friends since carli was gonna be with you speaking of her where is she?" he asks looking around for her. "oh she had to cancel last minute babysitting so i'm here with Sebastian" i inform him "Oh okay well i better get back the guys are waiting on me but nice seeing you to" he tells us as he walks back to the group of guys waiting at the concession stand. "The movie's about to start" Sebastian says i look down to see while i was gone he got a small bucket of popcorn, a box of skittles and two cups of Mnt. Dew. we walk into the theater it wasn't really crowded so i picked a row towards the top of the room and kick my feet up onto the back of a chair. "i uh i got you some skittles cause i know thats your favorite candy" Sebastian says kinda quietly as he hands me the box. "Aww thanks but you didn't have to you know" i say as i lean over and hug him as i pull away i see him blushing slightly "i know but i wanted to" he says as the lights dim i jump a little. "you okay?" he asks me "yeah the lights just startled me i'm good" i say as the movie starts i instantly start lip syncing to the first song "this is Halloween" out the corner of my eye i can see Sebastian Staring at me and smiling causing me to blush a little. as the movie goes on and starts toward my favorite part where Lock Shock and Barrel start to sing i feel a tap on my shoulder i look up and see Sebastian standing up and says quietly "i gotta talk to you" and starts walking toward the door i follow him my mind racing about what it could be the first thought was "omg he's gonna ask me out" but it was quickly dismissed. we step outside into the cool night we both stand their quietly for a few minutes then Sebastian says "so uh well there's this girl i like and uh well i've been meaning to ask her out for a while but i don't know how to ask her" he tell me. My heart sinks as i realize he's not talking about me. "who is she" i ask quietly avoiding his eyes to keep from showing how i feel. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere it starts pouring rain hard i turn to walk back to the theater but i can't see in all the rain "Alice grab my hand" i hear Sebastian yell from beside me. i take his hand and we start walking when suddenly i trip i fell Sebastian fall down with me i stand back up and he wraps his arms around me to help me walk it doesn't help i stumble a few feet and fall and then everything went black.
