Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Start from the beginning

“How about I shower and we both go home and celebrate” he says with a crooked sexy smile on his face. I winked at him and he quickly ran to the shower.

“Mmm” I moaned. We were in the darkness our apartment kissing and groping each other. He lay on top of me on the sofa. We started to discard each other’s clothes. He groaned as his tried to get my jeans off. I could feel his hardness poking my leg.

“Bedroom” I managed to say as he kissed his way down my neck. He stopped and lifted me bridal style up the stairs and into the bedroom.

I wake up wrapped in his arms with sheets scrambled over us. I look at him, he’s peacefully asleep. Gently taking his arms off me, I get out of bed. Walking across the bedroom in my birthday suit I grab my robe and head downstairs. I make myself a nice cup of hot chocolate and check the time. Its 10am. Great. I’ve missed work again. Sipping the hot chocolate I scan the kitchen slowly and settle on the fridge. I might as well make breakfast for my cupcake. Grabbing stuff from the overly stuffed fridge (all thanks to Mrs Perry, James’ mum) I pace around putting together breakfast. I turn on the radio and start dancing and singing along to familiar songs.

Arms snake around my waist making me jump a little. I smile as I flip the eggs in the pan. His warm breath moves up my neck and rests behind my ears as he nibbles my earlobe. He holds onto me I continue to make breakfast.

“Didn’t get enough last night, did you?” I ask.

“Hmmm I didn’t.” he licked my neck and I lean back unto him completely forgetting what I was doing. The grumbling of his stomach brought me back to reality. I unwrapped his arms and plated up the food.

“You’re hungry.” I say as I put both plates on the table.

I step out of the cab, putting on my big sunglasses. I walk up the big steps making my way to Allied & Co. I was dressed in a yellow Ponte dress that reached just above my knees and hot pink Louboutins, a Prada bag and subtle hints of Swarovski here and there. Not forgetting my navy blue blazer which was the only work uniform we had to wear and a name tag as well.

As I reach the doors they slide open and I enter. Passing through the lobby I look at the big clock on the wall, its 9:15 and there are already little throngs of people here and there filling in forms and speaking to cashiers and info desk clerks. I smile. I used to be one of those cashiers and info desk clerks. I hear small gasps and chatter as walk past people. I guess those are the ones who recognise me from the tabloids as my face had been plaster all over. I reach the elevator leading to the upper level of the bank. Stepping into the elevator I was joined by John our newbie expert, the person who trains the new ‘upstairs workers’, Mr Allied himself and his array of PAs and security. Each one of them double takes my appearance, give an appreciative nod and kindly smile. I smile back too.

“You are looking rather dazzling today Ms Clarke.” Mr Allied says. He wasn’t a regular at the office even though he owned it. He only came in when completely and utterly necessary. I’m guessing today must have been one of those necessary days then.

“Thanks Mr Allied. And you aren’t looking too bad yourself either.”

“All thanks to the lovely Mrs Allied.” He sighs. I smile. They all step out as the elevator comes to a stop with me behind them. As I walk towards my office I notice some doors of others were wide open as they settled in for the morning. People are welcoming each other and asking about their weekend others welcome Mr Allied as he walks past.

Before I knew it I was pulled into a nearby office by someone. It had to be Nicole.

“What the hell?” I say as gather myself and thank god for not falling and embarrassing myself.
