Ivy sat across from her mother at the dinner table, the way her mother glances at her every once and awhile. Step father sitting on the side enjoying his steak while her step brother would look between the two woman, almost as if he can sense the tension in the room, he stood up and excused himself as he booked it out of there.
"Ivy, why haven't you touched your food?" Her mother asked in a sweet tone, so sweet it made her tooth create a cavity.
"I'm vegetarian." Ivy replied as she toyed with the meat on her plate, her stomach coiling at the thought of taking a bite, bile rose up her throat reaching for her water to push it back down.
"Since when did you turn—"
"Last year mother, if you haven't been too busy sucking your new husbands cock then you would have taken notice." Ivy snapped, scooting her chair back and walked out of the room, her mother yelling her name as she exit the home that was once welcoming.
Ivy hated her mother, hated her family and most of all hated herself for sticking around still. Her feet stomping on the side walk, making her way through the town that was held for the high privilege with the money that could make any man kill for it. Something Ivy would rather live in a different life than the one she was placed into all because her mother was terrified of living on a minimum wage job. Her eyes glancing up at the house that was already hopping with the music vibrating off the walls, had her flash a few guys smirks of her own, empty promises of getting between her legs.
She knew her father would be upset with how she turned out, this wasn't the little girl he grew up to chase after butterflies and believed in fairy tales, no this was a girl who had to open her eyes when her father was killed, murdered because he was in a place at the wrong time. Ivy felt her heart clench dully in her chest, almost forgetting that she had a heart. A simple smile appeared on her face as she pushed her way through the teenagers that were already drunk off of the cheap beer that was place in the kitchen, her hand curling around a red cup as she poured herself a cup. Hazel eyes glancing along the faces of her classmates, all red cheek and eyes glossy, proof of alcohol coursing through their system along with other types of drugs they probably took. Ivy strolled into the living room, stopping in her steps when she noticed a tall male with his back toward her, the way some of the girls were looking at him, you'd think he would take notice. But of course, he was too busy talking to one of the football players before she was pulled away and met face to face with her cousin who gave her a smile.
"Ives, I missed you." She slurred out, giggling lightly to herself as if it was the most hilarious thing ever.
"We saw each other yesterday at the family dinner." Ivy replied with a hint of amusement from the girl. Wondering how did she end up so plastered already, until she took notice of the white substance at the corner of her nose? Reaching out, ivy lightly wiped it away and shook her head.
"Oops, guess Antonino didn't tell me about that." The brunette giggled again, swaying in her spot had Ivy worry for the fact she would get home later, if she had drove she would make sure she got her back in one piece.
"Mm...seems that Antonino is busy with Kenna over there." She murmured as she watched her cousin eyes glaze with jealousy, something about Isabella and Antonino was hard to keep up with. The pair could never keep things simple between the two, on and off couple, toying with fire. Ivy wondered how her cousin could stay beside him while he was off doing stuff like this.
"I'll be right back." Isabella whispered as she walked away, in return Ivy rolled her eyes, turning her attention back on the party while she sipped on her beer. The taste was a dull watery taste, almost as if the beer had too much water made her set the cup on the side.
She leaned against the wall, toying with the joint between her fingers as she stopped twirling the paper in hand when she felt her breathing get stuck in her throat. Green eyes clashing with her hazel eyes, the sinful smile upon his face had her shiver in delight for what promises he was shouting within his eyes toward her. Watching him move across the room, his posture screamed confidence, even leaked out of his pours until he was standing in front of Ivy who couldn't form a sentence.
"I'm Ethan." His voice husky, eyes staring into her own while he lifts her hand up and smiled at the joint she rolled up. "Do you want to go smoke?"
Ivy simply nodded her head in response, which had her where she was at, at the edge of the sink in the bathroom that reeked of pot as the two tug and bit at each other's lips, moaning softly against his plump pink lips. This man could have her begging on her knees as if she was at church confessing her sins, the thought had her lips curling into a smile when his rough hands ran up her back, pulling her more into his body feeling him throbbing against her jean covered area.
If only Ivy Torres knew what she was getting herself into that night.
