The future is less scary now than the present could ever be

At least in the future

I can rest in the hopes that there will be individuals who recognize the imbalance in our society

The present is now the horrible waking reality

Where even your nightmares are a better escape

The light that filled our youth was blazing

Now the world is full of shadows

Each silent day is contemplative and as fragile as China plates

Desire and passion become simpler desires like finding contentment, peace, and quiet

As if we were the only persons in the world

Sing into me

Until my eyes awaken

By a blazing, bright light

I want to believe in something

I can't settle for second best

So if you are out there my love

Come find me

Not so you will fill the emptiness in me

So my life changes to new colors

Someday

I will dream loud enough

That my dreams will grow like wings

Lifting me into the sky

Above the clouds

Taking me far away from here

The true destiny

Is to find one's own freedom

In oblivion

The blackest night

Becomes the most piercing light
