"Under no circumstances are you to tell anyone who you work with and what you do," Director Fury was explaining to Skye as she sat and talked with him.

"Why?"

"Only a select few know that Phil Coulson is alive. I do NOT want anyone else to know. Some of your missions are also classified. Not all of them, but a few, and I don't want you to accidentally let something slip."

Skye raised her hand and gave a two-fingered salute. "Alright, what else?"

Fury passed her a sheet of paper with time tables on it. "Once you've fully recovered I want you to choose three classes to take. No exceptions," he added as he saw the annoyed look on her face. "Phil told me that you wanted to be a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. This is your chance to prove it. Play by the rules or don't play at all."

Skye sighed and took the sheet of paper, folding it carefully and putting it in her backpack. "Anything else?"

Fury shook his head. He stood up from behind his desk and motioned for her to follow him. Skye stood up from her chair and pushed it in, soon following Fury and closing the door behind them. They made their way through the hallways, earning only a few odd stares. Finally they reached a room and Fury unlocked the door by swiping a key card. He handed Skye the card and opened the door for her. "That's your key and this is your room."

Skye's jaw nearly hit the floor as she saw the room. It wasn't super luxurious but all her life she lived in an orphanage with a bunch of other girls, a van, or a bunk on a plane. The first thing she saw was the living room and kitchen, then when she opened another door she was in her own bedroom with its own bathroom. She looked around and smiled at the large queen sized bed with a ton of pillows. Skye looked at the pillow she had brought, it didn't even look like she would need it now. She set her key down on the table and inspected the large room. There was a very nice bathroom with her own shower, so she wouldn't have to use the student shower room while she was still recovering. She also had her own small kitchen with just a large counter, a small stove, a microwave, and fridge. She also had a nice couch and a small coffee table in the center of the room. She looked back to Fury in astonishment and then she crossed her arms and squinted her eyes. "Why are you being so nice to me?"

Fury smirked. "Coulson threatened. Normally I would've just given you a dorm to share with another student but Coulson insisted since you were still recovering that you get a teacher's room."

Skye raised an eyebrow. "Tell him I say thanks."

Fury smirked. "I'll let him know. There will be someone from medical coming in to check on you later but until you're healed, enjoy your room."

Skye smiled at him. "Thanks."

He nodded silently and shut the door behind him. Skye first grabbed the box from her table and started to unpack it. She pulled out her hula girl and set her down on the coffee table. Next she grabbed what few books she owned and arranged them neatly on the small bookshelf by her couch. She unpacked a small standup picture frame and set it down on her nightstand in her room. It was a picture of her as a baby with her favorite sister from the orphanage holding her. Skye smiled as she set up the picture frame, Sister Katherine was the only good thing about her years there, she was like a mother to her.

Skye walked back into the living room/kitchen area and took her laptop, phone, and numerous chargers out of the box, setting them down on the coffee table. She took the now empty box and shoved it under the table. Next she grabbed her duffel bag and brought it to her bedroom, setting it down on the bed. She unpacked all of her clothes and put them away in the dresser that was provided. She hung up her red dress, leather jacket, and S.H.I.E.L.D hoodie in the closet, where she was also storing her shoes. Technically, the S.H.I.E.L.D hoodie wasn't even her's. She stole it from Ward and apparently he still hadn't noticed. Maybe he had, but he hadn't said anything. He had left it in the cargo hold one morning after training and it was cold so Skye nabbed it and hid it in her bunk. It's been in her possession ever since. It was a black zip-up hoodie with the S.H.I.E.L.D logo on the back and Ward's last name on the front in small letters on the left side of her chest. Well, it was higher up towards the shoulders when Ward wore it, but Skye was tiny and the hoodie practically swallowed her. Skye smiled as she threw the empty duffel bag on the floor of the closet.

She lifted her backpack up onto her bed and unpacked all of her soaps, toothpaste, lotions, and toothbrush next, leaving them all in the bathroom.

Once Skye had made sure that she had unpacked every thing, she walked back to the living room area and plugged her laptop and phone in so that they could charge.

She turned when she heard a knock on the door. She walked towards it and opened it when she saw that it was the woman from medical.

"Hi, I'm Agent Cross," the woman greeted, holding out her hand.

Skye shook it and ushered her in. "Skye, but you probably already knew that. Fury said you were coming to check up on me?"

The woman looked to be in about her early to mid thirties. She had dirty blonde hair that was nearly thrown into a bun and she had freckles scattered across her face. Agent Cross nodded. "I was told to keep an eye on you and check in every day to make sure that you were healing. May I see?"

Skye nodded and walked towards the couch so she could lie down. She lifted up her shirt and Agent Cross examined the stitches. "You seem to be healing remarkably well. Frankly I'm just rather surprised that you survived this."

Skye let out a small laugh. "You wouldn't be the only one." She sat back up as the Agent Cross put her shirt back down. Skye raised an eyebrow. "So you'll be coming by every day until I'm better?"

Agent Cross nodded. "That's correct. I'll be checking in on you periodically until I clear you to start training again."

"Any idea how long that'll be?" Skye asked, eager to begin trading again.

"Well I'll be able to give you a more exact answer in the next few days as I watch your progress but right now I'd say three weeks to a month."

Skye looked crestfallen and she sighed. "Alright."

Agent Cross smiled sympathetically. "I'm sorry, but you really don't want to begin training too early and then hurt yourself, it could cause serious damage."

Skye nodded. "I understand, I just kind of have a lot of energy that I'm ready to burn," she explained sheepishly.

Agent Cross laughed. "I understand." She stood up and made her way towards the door. "That'll be all for today, Skye, I'll see you tomorrow and we can discuss some things. For now, you should rest, you've had a busy day."

Skye nodded and walked her to the door. "Thanks..."

"You can call me Amy. The name's Amelia Cross."

Skye smiled. "Thanks, Amy."

"No problem, now get some rest."
