"Dude, stop being so uptight, relax," I laugh, and he looks up at me, eyes scanning the place,

"This place is way too expensive, I should just go," He stands up and grabs his bag off the back of the chair,

"Ian, sit. Order something that looks good to you, if you don't like it, I'll order something else for you." I smile waving the waiter over,

"Okay, fine," He picks the menu up again, "I'll take a number four,"

"Oh, good choice," I smile, giving the waiter our orders, "Thank you!" The waiter smiles and walks away,

"Why are you doing this?"

I furrow my brows at him, "What do you mean? Doing what?"

"Taking me out for lunch, saving me from the jocks, why are you being so nice to me, I thought sophomores and fresh meat didn't get along,"

"Fuck that, who says we can't be friends? Is there like some high school handbook?" I tease, waving my brows,

"No, well, I guess not!" I laugh,

"I thought so! So, when did you come out?" I ask him sipping my Pepsi,

"Uh, this summer, I came out to my brother, well, he found my gay skin mag and tried to test if I was really gay by getting his friend to suck me off under a table and low and behold, she didn't cut it."

I laugh, shaking my head, "Wanna know how I came out?"

"Wait, he was serious about that? I thought he was just fucking with you." I shake my head,

"No, I dated Jacob at the beginning of ninth grade, towards the end I started to realize my feelings for his sister, and all feelings for him or any guy was gone. I came out over the intercom of the school," His eyes widen, "Yes! You heard me right, I was messing around in my dad's office and I pushed the button, and this is what I said, I kid you not! I said, 'My name is Y/N Givens, and I am gay as fuck!', I was grounded for the following week, but teased for the rest of the year. I mean it's the twenty-first century like get the fuck over it, I'm an African American woman who likes other women, like leave me the fuck alone." I laugh, and Ian nods,

"Oh, the food's here." The waiter sits the food down and I slip him a twenty, thanking him, "I am so nervous, like what is the appeal of raw fish?"

"Just try it," I pick up a piece of his sushi, placing it at his lips,

"I don't want to," He whines and when he opens his mouth, I shove the sushi past his lips, pulling the chopsticks back out, he chews it, once deciding spitting it out would look disgusting and swallows it, "I, I, I actually like it," I smile,

"I thought you would," I shrug picking up a piece of my own sushi, "Eat up!"
