"Oh as if you know anything," Nadine replied sarcastically.
"I don't know, but I'm making an effort to learn, you know? But you're so aloof and unwilling to open yourself up. I want to know you more and I do care for you, that's why I'm telling you what I saw in these few instances because I want you to be happy and be with someone who can make you happy--"
"That isn't your place to. You can't just tell me what makes me happy and who I need in my lif--"
"But I've never been pushy with that, Nadine," Kath reminded. "I just wanted to tell you so you can ultimately make a decision. I just want to be helpful, but you always reduce every effort to me meddling. And it hurts you implied that I do that for fun because I find your life problems entertaining. We haven't known each other long, but all I want to do is help and it's har--"
"Just stop," Nadine answered with a huff. "This isn't your life, Kath. It's mine and you can't act as if you know what's best for me because you feel that way."
"You keep doing that," Kath answered back. "You always keep telling me that just because I'm not you, I'm wrong. My perspective does not matter. I guess this is why Diego gets frustrated too...because you always think you're right, and you like to surround yourself with validation that you're never wrong and always perfect. But Nadine, you aren't. Neither am I. But I admit it while you just shut yourself away from the world and push away anyone who shows concern."
"Oh so you're taking his side now?" Nadine asked quite harshly. "And really? You've known me for a week and you assume I'm like this with everyone. Maybe, just maybe, others stay in their lanes and don't act like they know my life."
"I'm not taking his side I just think yo--"
"You still aren't getting my perspective," Nadine snarled. "You keep acting as if you know me as a person based on a week worth of experiences. How can someone possibly not be annoyed that some stranger keeps acting as if they know them?!" Her fists were clenched as she turned her head to the side and awaited the answer.
"And how can someone not be frustrated when they keep being treated so harshly! I've been so patient with you. And I give in a lot. But you don't give me that same respect and I don't know what it is with you. You take every action so maliciously that you do not realize people telling you these things aren't infringing on your personal freedom or space, we're telling you all that because we care for you. I care for you, Nadine. I want you to be happy and I want to help resolve your problems and know you more. Clearly you don't care to do the same, and I don't expect that of you. You don't even have to listen, just don't shut me out," Kath emphasized, taking a deep breath. "And you know what? You always tell me that I don't know you so I don't have a right to say my opinion. And you're right, I don't know you well. But how can I ever know who you are if you keep pushing me away? I can only base on what I know, but how can I know anything if you don't let me know even a single detail?"
Nadine stayed mute as she found herself unable to answer as her hands slightly quivered. Kath had seldom raised he voice, especially out of anger.
"I think he loves you and he makes you happy. You stressed a lot over your currently relationship and it's been going on even before I got here, correct? I wanted you to know that your friend wrote you a song and potentially is in love with you. Personally I think you should consider thinking about where your feelings really lay and what they are, but I was never going to force you. I just wanted to tell you because that's important, and you seemed clearly surprised when you heard the lyrics. It was only because I had your best interest in my mind, but I guess I was wrong. That's all I wanted to say and you're right, maybe I am invasive and you don't have to force yourself to let me stay here if I'm that frustrating. I know you feel guilty because I saved you then, but like I said, I didn't expect anything in return. I still don't," Kath said as she placed a hand on the door knob.
