"Good morning, kids! Today we'll sit in groups to color all day since we're done from this year's semester." Announced the teacher as she clasped her hands.

The students cheered lazily as they went to their usual groups to get ready to draw with their friends. All of them but a little, short girl who was staring at a snake-shaped table.

Well you see, this girl, (Y/N), had a little crush on one of the boys in her class. His name was James. They were friends for as long as they remember. They played together and all, but god how James was always oblivious around her!

She tried everything to get his attention. And everything meant everything. Buying him his favorite sweets, going with him to nearby parks, playing any game he made up with him, and many more. But James being James, he never budged to even think about why she spent most of her time with him.

"(Y/N)?" The teacher called out to the girl who was spacing out.

"Oh! Miss! Can I pass the crayons?" (Y/N) asked as she skipped across the classroom to the teacher.

"Sure! Why not?" The teacher smiled as she gave the girl some crayon buckets.

"Yay!" The shortie beamed. She started to set a bucket on each table until she reached the snake-shaped table.

"Jaaaames!" Called (Y/N) her best friend while running towards him.

"Hm-oof! W-what are you doing?" Asked the tackled boy, trying to get up.

"Let's color together!" She looked at him, smiling from ear to ear while hugging him like there was no tomorrow.

"Okay! But first, get off me! You're crushing me!" James squirmed frantically, trying to escape her bone-crushing hug.

"Oh! Sorry!" She giggled merrily as she helped him to get up. They both took a seat next to each other and started to hunt for good, new crayons.

After at least thirty minutes spent drawing, (Y/N) noticed that there was a missing color in what she thought was a master piece.

She took the bucket and searched for a red crayon, but there was none. Then, looking over to where James was sitting, she noticed he was cluching the crayon she needed.

"James, I need the red crayon." The young (Y/N) told him.

"I'm using it." He raised the both of his eyebrows while continuing drawing.

"But I need it!" She whined.

"But I'm using it!" He whined, mimicking her.

"Gimme!" She was about to snatch the crayon but failed when he held it up above his head.

"Come on! It'll be quick! You've been using it for a while!" She grabbed his arms and started to shake them. He forcefully pulled his arms away from the shortie causing her to fall.

"Oh, no! Are you okay?" He asked, hoping that he hadn't hurt her.

"No, I'm not! I'll be okay if you lend me the red crayon for at least a few seconds!" She pouted.

"Never!" He stuck his tongue out at her and returned to his seat, giving (Y/N) some side glances.

"Fine!" She huffed, watching him silently as he drew some not-so-perfect lines and stars all over his paper. Deciding that she had had enough of the teasing, she threw a yellow crayon at him and looked the other way, crossing her arms. Before the poor boy could defend himself from the incoming shot, the crayon smacked his forehead.

"Ouch! That hurts!" He yelped, rubbing the spot where the yellow crayon landed. He frowned and threw the red one at the pouting girl. It smacked her right cheek where it left a red mark on her skin. He expected her to cry out in pain but instead, she grinned when she picked the rolling crayon.

Thanks, James!" She thanked him, grinning cheekly and went back to complete her art work.

His eyes widened and he gasped as he watched her color the white parts as if nothing had happened. Outwitted, he spent the whole class glaring at her because of her "stealing" his favorite crayon.

The bell rang, telling the students that the break had just started, and James was the first to step out of the door, still angry about earlier. When (Y/N) noticed his absence, she grabbed her drawing and dashed out of the class, searching for him.

"James!" She hugged him from behind when she spotted him stomping his way to the playground.

"What?" He huffed, glaring at her.

"Here!" She hurriedly handed him a folded paper and ran off ahead of him.

Confused, he stared at the dashing girl until she was out of sight. His gaze went to the folded paper between his hands as he began unfolding it. A blushed rose to his cheeks and ears as he gaped at the messy looking heart, drawn in his favorite color, red, with James & (Y/N) written in the middle.
