Spring, one of the most beautiful seasons, filled with flowers and sunshine, after the bitter cold that the winter had brought to Troll Village. Many Trolls were celebrating the change of weather since it had really brought a delightful feeling into their bodies to be able to feel the warm sun hit their colorful bodies, treating themselves to ice cream and getting rid of layers of clothes. The change of season gave them the freedom to dance and sing outside without fearing to feel chilly, which always made a Troll very merry. It really was such an amazing feeling to switch seasons since there was so much now to do to prepare for summer, so most Trolls went through a process that was more complicated then named.
Spring Cleaning.
Queen Poppy, the newest ruler of the Troll Village, was making her way around the village to make it to her awaited destination. The pink troll had a serious skip in her feet, so pleased and fulled of contention to be feeling the warm sun hit her skin, thanks to the rising weather that spring was providing for the Trolls. It had only been about a half a year since Poppy had taken her place as the new ruler after her father, King Peppy, retired from age, so this was her first spring as queen. Poppy passed by many ecstatic Trolls, waving at them with a bright smile plastered on her face, while hurrying herself over towards a close friend's home. The constant bumping into trees and getting lost in her steps was worth it to finally appear at the hidden bunker that she was due to arrive at. With the excitement of the task she promised to help with shot through her viens, the pink troll knocked on the boulder that signaled attention in the hidden home that someone was there.
"Oh, Branch! I'm here! Hey, Branch! Open up!" Poppy hollered happily as she continued to bang her fist against the boulder, hoping to catch Branch's attention. She couldn't hear a sound from the house under below, starting to believe that maybe Branch just wasn't home, which was also unbelievable to her.
After a couple more times of banging on the boulder, keeping her eyes peeled on the 'go away' mat that Branch still kept to secretly see any intruders, Poppy heard a soft rumble from under her, inspiring her to back away from the mat that she stood on. A small flick and the eye slot opened from the mat, as Poppy noticed Branch's eyes, which were much softer and radiant, causing her to give an overjoyed grin to see Branch. He looked also a bit irritated, which was probably because her relentless banging on his property, but Branch wasn't surprised.
"Bang any louder on my door, you may just knock it into the ground." Branch indicated towards the pink troll that was staring down at him from the mat, giving him back a teasing smirk in return.
"Psh, what door?! All I see is a boulder!"
"Well it's the thought that counts, Poppy."
"Well maybe after cleaning out your little hideaway, we can actually go to shop for an actual door?"
"What's the point on having a hideaway if you have a door, that can be noticed?!"
"Alright, alright. You got me there. Now, let me in grumpy! We've got some work to do! We all know your place is in needing off a spring cleaning!"
That's right, spring cleaning. Branch's absolute favorite part of the year, where Poppy was going to clean out his cozy little bunker and probably dispose of seventy-five percent of the home, which Branch was not at all excited about. But, he couldn't say no to Poppy. She always put everything into what she does and only does different tasks with the best intentions.
"Alright, alright." Branch replied blandly, resulting to an advantageous giggle to escape from Poppy's mouth, as a pleased smile grew on her face. A couple seconds later, the 'go away' mat slid open, as Branch poked his head out to observe the pink troll that was glancing down at him, holding an ecstatic facial expression. Oh boy, she was excited. But again, she was always excited, for everything and anything. As much as Branch didn't want to clean out his bunker since he hated change most of the time, he knew that he really did need to get rid of some things around the place and Poppy was one-hundred-percent on board to help him out. In return, Branch gave the pink troll back a lighthearted grin, then fully brought himself back into the bunker so Poppy had room to enter also. Poppy jumped into the entrance and brush off her blue dress with her hands, then scanned her eyes up at Branch, with enthusiasm growing inside her body. The two stared at each other with no speaking for a couple seconds, only gifting each other with warm smiles and soft eyes, but the stares were executed once Poppy walked closer towards Branch, swinging her arms around the blue troll with happiness. Feeling her warmth against his body, he gently returned the gesture by wrapping his arms around her small body. Letting the hug last for only about ten seconds, Poppy delicately pulled away from Branch with a thrilled simper plastered on her face. With a small sigh, Branch carefully took Poppy's hands and held them with his hands.
