His Abused Mate

Chapter 2

Jenna's P.O.V.

I wake up but don't open my eyes. I can tell there's someone else in here and I immediately tense up and ever so slowly open my eyes. I'm in a room thats pure white and I'm in a soft bed but there's a strange beeping noise coming from somewhere. It's not until I look down and see an IV hooked up to my arm that I register that I'm in a hospital. I look up and see the most handsome boy sleeping in a chair across the room. Who is that? I think to myself.

Thats our mate. Nala says dreamily. I tense up again but this time he senses I'm up and looks over at me. I start to panic, what if he rejects us? My old pack kept telling me over and over that my mate would want to reject me as soon as he saw me because I'm fat and ugly. He gets up and starts to walk over to the bed. Probably seeing that I'm afraid says, "Its ok, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm your mate, I brought you here because you passed out and I was worried that you were really hurt." Once he finished talking he gave me a small smile which I had to return because it was one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen. He sat down on the end of the bed looking very nervous that I was going to do something.

"M-my n-name is Jenna." I say just above a whisper and his smile grows and says, "Hi, my name is Alex." Alex I thought, thats an amazing name. He reaches over to hold my hand and I let him of course. When our hands touch I gasp as I feel sparks where our hands meet. Alex opens his arms and motions for me to give him a hug. I scoot over to him slowly. I cautiously wrap my arms around his waist and I feel the sparks again. I sigh in content. He moves us so he's leaning up against the headboard and I'm sitting in his lap. We sit like this for a while until someone else walks in.

"Ah you're awake..Jenna is it? My name is Dr. Anderson." He says while extending his hand for me to shake but I flinch back fearing he's going to hit me. Alex wraps his arms around me tighter but in a protective way. Then I realized what just happened

"Sorry, I'm just not used to kindness." as soon as I say that Alex growls and moves me so he's looking into my eyes, "What?" he says trying not to raise his voice but you can tell that he's really mad. I flinch again because I usually get hit when I heard that tone of voice. I didn't realise I was crying until Alex wiped the tears from my face and pulled me to his chest whispering, "Shhh I'm sorry, it's going to be alright."

"I'll give you two some space." Dr. Anderson said and walked out shutting the door quietly. Alex started to stroke my hair and after a few minutes of him doing that along with slightly rocking me back and forth, I let the darkness of sleep consume me.

Alex's P.O.V.

I look down at my beautiful mate asleep in my arms and brush a piece of hair away that covered her face. Who would hurt someone this amazing? I think to myself. I feel Adien getting restless thinking about what she went through. I set my mate down on the hospital bed and went to find Dr. Anderson but not until after I placed a soft kiss onto her forehead. I turn around and leave her room as just as I turn the corner I see Dr. Anderson coming towards me. He sees me and smiles.

"Ah Alpha, I was just coming to see you. I wanted to let you know that your mate is ok to leave but she needs lots of rest, food, and water." he finishes and starts to continue down the hall way.

"Thank you." I say with a genuine smile just as he walks past me. He looks back and gives me a small nod before walking again. All of a sudden I feel my mate start to panic a little so I rush back to her room only to see that she has woken up. When her eyes meet mine she visibly relaxes and I get lost in her beautiful chocolate brown eyes. "If you want I can bring you up to a real room, Dr. Anderson said that it was ok for you to leave but you needed a lot of rest." I say while walking over to her.

"S-sure" she stutters but offers me a smile. I smile back and respond, "Don't be nervous around me, I'd never hurt you. And by the way, you have the most beautiful voice ever." she blushes from that and looks down. I scoop her up like a bride on her wedding day and she giggles. Beautiful, I think and when we get to my room I walk over and set her down on my large bed. I turn to leave but I hear a small whimper and see her reaching for me. I sit down and take her in my arms adjusting her so we are sitting like we were in the hospital.

"Can we play 20 questions? To get to know each other better..." Jenna asks timidly.

"Of course," I say and take her hand in mine before continuing, "would you like to start?" She nods her head and thinks of her first question.

"Umm...what pack is this?" She asks.

"The Dark Night Pack, what pack did you come from?" I say playing with her hands. When she doesn't respond I change the subject.

"Ok. So whats your favorite color?"

"Blue, yours?" She replies glad for the subject change

And we continue on like this for about another half an hour just going back and forth until I hear her stomach rumble and I laugh, "Is someone hungry?" I ask jokingly while lightly poking her stomach. When I poke her stomach she winces in pain. I lift up her shirt to see bruises and cuts covering her stomach. I try not to let out a growl but I feel Adien take over and I lay her sown and shift. I stand protectively over Jenna but eventually lie down, not on top of her, and lay my head on her stomach. She lifts my head and places it in her lap and pets my head smiling. I hear her stomach rumble again and I shift back. I put on some shorts and before she can protest I carry her down to the kitchen and make her some lunch .

Jenna's P.O.V.

"So, what would you like for lunch?" my wonderful mate asks.

"I don't really mind. I mean I haven't had a true meal in a long time." as soon as the words leave my mouth I hear a growl and look at Alex shaking and his eyes had turned black. I run over to him and pull him into a hug and try to calm him down. "Its ok, I'm right here see?" I say and start to rub his back. After a little bit the shaking subsides.I look up to see him with a small smile on his face. I smile back then go back to sit down.

"How about grilled cheese?" Alex asks.

"Sure" I say with a smile.

Chapter 2! It's almost Spring Break for me and I have a ton of finals to study for so I won't update for at least a week or so but I'll try.
