You know how some people believe that everyone has a destiny? That we should leave everything up to fate because we can't actually control the outcome? I don't believe in destiny but I do believe in fate; something beyond your control. Do you remember when we were little? And we would dream of doing something extraordinary? Whether it be going on a big treasure hunt, saving the world from aliens, or stopping the bad guy from ending the world. We didn't realize that those things didn't happen in real life. But we always believed that we could do them anyways. But what if there were people who saved the world? What if they saved the world every single day without the world finding out? My name is Alexandria Connolly. I'm sixteen years old. And this is my story.

I don't really know how to make this quick so I'm just going to have to tell you everything. From the beginning. Don't worry. My story is actually kind of entertaining. So, find a comfy spot, grab some food, and get ready for this rollercoaster.

I should give at least a little bit of a summary first. You'll notice as this story advances that fate plays a very large hand in the events that unfold. There will be many things you won't understand at first. But keep reading. Because you'll find out exactly what everything means later.

Most people's stories start when they're born. But mine actually goes back even farther. Generations before me. Centuries before me, even. When the USA was a brand new country.

But, before I give too much away too early, I should start the story. You'll find out everything in due time. I promise. But, one thing you should know for certain, my story won't be told by me, because it can't.

"What are we going to do? He's never going to stop. Not until he finds out what's going on."

"He already knows! He knows it's her, and he's coming for her. They're all coming."

"We need to do it."

"No! We can't! I won't do it!"

"Angela, we have to. There's no other choice. It's the only way she'll be safe."

"Jonathan, she's our daughter! And you're willing to do this?"

"I don't want to do it! It's killing me. But she's not safe here. It has to be done."

"Fine. If she'll be safe."

The man, Jonathan, walked quickly down the empty street, looking at his surroundings repeatedly. In his arms he carried a small bundle wrapped in a yellow blanket.

It was nighttime, in a small, empty street in a quiet part of Boston, Massachusetts. Jonathan walked to the end of the street, turning up the walkway of the first building on the left.

He climbed the stone staircase, looking at the plaque attached to the door.

Olivia Munson

Home Orphanage

All children can have a home

Of course, Jonathan knew what the building was without having to look at the sign. They had been watching for days. He placed the bundle down at the doorstep and kissed the forehead of the baby girl inside the blankets before whispering to her.

"We love you, angel." Then he reached for the doorbell and rang it, running down the steps and disappearing in the shadows around the corner of the building. But he didn't leave.

He watched from his hiding spot at the door opened and the front steps were flooded with light. He watched as Olivia Munson, a young woman with a big heart, opened the door and looked around for the person who had rung the doorbell. She gasped when she looked down and saw the baby girl lying at her feet, fast asleep.

Olivia picked up the little girl and brought her inside, placing her in one of the spare cribs in the living room. When she took the little girl out of her blankets, a slip of paper fell out with writing on it.

Her name is Alexandria Grace

Her birthday is September 23rd.

She was only two weeks old. Olivia put down the note and looked at the baby girl who was still fast asleep, "Well Alexandria, it looks like we're going to have to find you a home."

A/N: I'm baaaaaaaaaaack  *evil laughter* So I've been gone for quite a while. But I've been writing a TON in my hiatus. On this story, and many others that I will hopefully be sharing soon. I've been writing quite a bit and I really hope that this will be better and that I will be better at updating chapters.

Hopefully, many of you reading this are returning from reading the original version. And hopefully the rest of you reading this are new. I hope you like this book and please, give me feedback! I need to know what you think.

This happened with my last book and No one told me what they thought of this.
