Shoot it's already ten o'clock, Zayla thought as she looked up at the clock. She quickly finished putting the science supplies away. "I guess I lost track of time. " she said as she walked out of the room. She went to her locker and grabbed her backpack. Zayla ran outside to the end of the school yard over to the sidewalk, she then stopped and looked at her phone to see if she had any messages. On the screen was a text from her mother.
Good night honey and don't forget to set your alarm :)

If she knew I was out this late she would kill me, even if I tried to explain the my science teacher asked me to clean up the old lab. I wonder why she is always so protective of me, I mean I'm 16, I'm not a little kid anymore. Luckily mom is out of town she'll never have to know. Zayla put her phone back in her bag and started walking again. Looking at all the shops and buildings as she walked, and began noticing there was no one around, not even any stray cats. All the lights in the buildings were turned off and everything was silent, not even car horns from the busy side of town were heard. As she walked, a loud scream came out of nowhere, Zayla jumped up in fear. She then heard it again, this time she ran towards the scream which led her down an alley way. Zayla stopped and looked around, no one was there. As she was about to head back a girl fell out of the sky hitting the hard ground with a big bang. Zayla hurt just looking at her, she started running over to her but was stopped by another person that had fallen but the thing that fell was not a person and did not fall. Zayla stood in front of a hairless beast that resembled a minatar. It was about seven feet tall and had dark purple eyes filled with anger. The beast started closing in on her, she turned around and tried to run but the thing whipped it's tail creating a black and purple firery barrier blocking the way out of the alley. Before Zayla had the chance to think of a plan the beast grabbed her backpack and lifted her up. Is this it, am I gonna die. No not yet. She kicked the beast's face and slipped out of her backpack, but forgetting there was a dead end at the other end of the alley, that's where her plan ended.
"Great all that epicness for nothing, I'm still gonna die." Zayla muttered to herself. The scream she heard earlier pierced her ears, and she saw the beast now on all fours charging with two giant horns pointing straight at her. She closed her eyes and waited for her death.
About five seconds went by and she realized she wasn't dead, she then opened her eyes and saw the beast completely frozen in front of her. She looked down and saw her hands glowing a light blue color. "Did I do that?" Zayla asked her self.
