So I had to write a story fur my creative writing class and I'm too lazy to make it into a big huge thing so I'm just gonna upload it as is
(The main character is a boy)
My hands shook uncontrollably as my eyes roamed over the unfamiliar room. The dull cement walls gave a depressing aura to the area; it was so cold I couldn't stop myself from shivering as I huddled in the corner, my back pressed against the walls. An eerie creek echoed from the hallway outside the metal door. The only other feature was the rusted bed frame.
Time went by slowly as I stared at the door, awaiting my inescapable death. The more I thought about it the more depressed I got; I need to think about something else. My mind kept replaying the last twenty-four hours in my head. Every excruciating detail.
It all started when my best friend Makaila and I decided to go annoy the security guards at the nearby Wal-Mart. Now I know what it sounds like, but we are not a couple. Makaila's boyfriend worked there as a cashier, so to be able to talk to him we had to buy something. To get past this we would buy one item, get another item and pay for that one thing then repeat the process until we had everything we needed. Let's just say the security guards knew our names now.
We were on our fourth round, currently paying.
"Mike, isn't there a sale on cheetoes?" Makaila batted her eyelashes as she looked at him hopefully, her voice going higher than normal.
"Only if you buy two," Mike blushed as he looked at her, unable to focus on anything else for the moment.
"I'll be right back," and with that I was left alone with a very flustered Mike. Sadly, that was the only reason she brought me. To hold her place in line when she went to go grab something for one of the deals at the store. Mike and I didn't get along. I'm pretty sure it's because he thinks I'll steal Makaila away from him, but I only see her as a friend.
The constant beeping and murmuring didn't make things feel as awkward, but none the less my gaze wandered to my feet. I always did this when I was alone with Mike; he wasn't intimidating or anything, but the thought of talking to my best friend's boyfriend really isn't appealing to me. I'm positive Mike sees me as an extreme antisocialist when I'm not around Makaila, most guys don't act like that around other guys.
When Makaila came back with another bag of cheetoes, both Mike and I sighed in relief at the sight of her. We quickly paid and went back to scouring the store for another reason to get back in line in order to see Mike.
"I heard the royal family is in town, isn't that so awesome. Out of all the places they could've gone they came here; to our city," Makaila said as we wondered the store.
"Yeah, totally. Who would of thought?" I timidly replied.
"Well now I'm sure more people will want to come here," Makaila happily chimed.
We made our way to the candy isle for the twelfth time before finally picking out a bag of chocolates.
As we approached the checkout counter everything fell silent, no beeping, and no talking or even a whisper of any kind. All eyes were drawn to the entrance. And when I looked up, my jaw dropped. The royal insignia was plastered on the outfits of ten men. And of course none other than the king and his daughter stood right behind them.
I couldn't help myself from staring at the princess; she was named the lost beauty for a reason. Any and all photo evidence was destroyed the second it went up, but all who saw her called the most beautiful and fair girl they had ever seen. I totally agreed without a doubt in my mind that she was the equivalent to Aphrodite - the goddess of love and beauty. Her blonde hair cascaded her heart-shaped face perfectly.
