Soon my eyes caught Liam.  I got up and jogged over, "Hey!"

He looked over and smiled, " You don't come to the cafeteria."

Stuffing my open hand into my pocket, "Only when I'm in need for food. I hate it here."

"Why?  Is it because the girls dig you?" He hit my shoulder and I hissed out in pain.  The fucker always loved to abuse me.  Even when I was ten and him eight.

"You're more of the looker than I," I set Jazz's drink and my fruit bowl down.  I grabbed one of the seats and acrossed my legs.  Liam was chopping down on his chicken salad, "Are you still on a diet?"

"Are you still single?" He chuckled.

"Fuck you," I took his coke and sipped it.

"Hey I was drinking that!" He whined, making his eyebrows crease.

"Well not technically.  You were eating, not drinking it," wiggling my eyebrows.  He threw a piece of chicken at me, getting dressing on my shirt.

"Oops, sorry Mr. I-can't-get-anything-under-an-A," he just kept eating, laughing at the mess he caused on my shirt.

Wiping it off, I sent a comment back, "You shouldn't do that sweatheart, your complexion needs all the nutrients it can get."  He was about to kick me, making me brace myself, when a voice came in.

"You're the guy that was in the study hall," the girl had blonde hair and blue eyes.  She seemed familiar.

"And you are?" I sneered back, to get hit in the shin.

She sat down, her plate filled with mac and cheese, pulling her fork out, "I'm Anahita, I'm in the economic major."

Anahita.... Anahita.... then a lightbulb went off, "Oh, I have something for you."  I dug into my back pocket and handed her her wallet.

"Oh this is where it was!  I thought I would have to get a new ID!" She opened everything, even counted her money.  Did she think I would steal?  I'm not a thief.

"Don't worry everything is there," I made a snazzy comment, getting a look from Liam.

"I wasn't worried about that.  I have this necklace in my wallet.  I thought it may have dropped out," she sent me a smile.  She is kinda cute.

I felt pain rippling in my head.  I turned around to see Jazz, "Why the hell did you hit me?"

"You left me!  I thought you just took my drink and ditched!" She stomped her foot like a fourth grader.  I got up, handing her her pineapple smoothie, and grabbing my fruit bowl.

"See yah," I waved a bye to Liam.  He was currently being crushed by Jazz.  I felt a tug on my shirt.  It was Anahita.

"Thanks!" Her smile reached the bottom of her glasses.  I felt dazed for a second, but got out of it quickly.  I waved it off and dragged Jazz from Liam.  Headin back to my room, Jazz said something that ran through my mind.

"Her?"

🤦🏼‍♀️Anahita🤦🏼‍♀️

"You sure?"

"Positive," I sped walked through the halls.

"You could just stay with me," Liam has repeated this over ten times now.  I stopped and looked at him.

"I have to at some point.  I mean we share a dorm.  I'll be fine.  If I can't take it, I'll call you," I breathed out.  Liam is sweet for caring so much, but I can handle myself.  I'm good now.  It's been over a week.  I can do this.

Rubbing his neck and not making eye contact he sighed, "Fine, but if you can't do it or he does something, call."

I hugged him.  His arms wrapped around me, "Thank you!"  As I pulled away, our eyes met,  I felt lost in them.  Almost as if they were freezing time.  Soon that time was crushed by his phone ringing.

I waved him a bye and made my exit.  I checked my wrist watch to see it was 8:50 pm.  I was in front of my door.  I could feel my mind racing.  I closed my eyes and breathed, "You don't need him."  I grabbed my keys and opened the door.

Inside there he was.  He sat up quickly and went wide eyed seeing me.  I shuffled into the room, setting my stuff down.  The tension in the air was thick.  I felt as if I couldn't breath.  I could his gaze burning holes into the back of my head.  As I shifted around the room, we remained silent.  Nothing to be heard.

I finally built the courage to look at him.  He was shirtless, showing his golden tan skin.  His brown hair a sexy mess like usual.  He deep hazel eyes staring directly at me, "Where have you been staying?"

His voice was so deep and husky.  It made me quiver with pleasure.  I cleared my throat, "Who cares."

"Tell me," he demanded.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You have no right to demand me to answer.  You can kiss my ass for all I care."  He was taken back by my response.  I went back to putting my stuff away.  I could feel him staring at me and it bugged me.  I mean, can't he look anywhere else?  Maybe not....

"I'm sorry," my body shot around quickly to see him.  He was up and putting on a shirt.  I held my breath, "I didn't mean to hurt you.  It just happened.  I'm sorry."

His hazel eyes flashed with regret, "I didn't know what was happening until the next morning.  I understand your reasoning."  He was hurt as well.  My hands were aching to touch him.  My mouth was fighting, but lost, trying to say it's fine.  I wanted to do something to comfort him, but my rational and logically side of my brain held me back from that.

We stood there in silence.  My eyes never left him.  I could feel my body trembling and wanting to yell and scream, but I held it in.  I cleared my throat and looked him in the eye, "I won't forget what you did and I wont trust you.  We won't be together, maybe not even friends.  I want you to understand you hurt me and betrayed me.  We're done."  After saying that, I felt my body relax.

I turned around and got into the shower.  This is going to be a long night.
