Chapter 2: Classes and a bully

We walked to the bus stop. I saw Lucas and tried to sneak up on him. “I know you're there.” He replied and laughed at my failed attempt to scare him. “You try to scare me every morning and it never works.” He turned around and gave me a hug and handed me and Ava a box. “Happy birthday.” Ava opened her box and in it held a headband maker kit thing. I opened the box and inside it was a bracelet he made and a soundtrack from favorite Broadway Show. “I made the bracelet in 2nd grade but never had the chance to give you it.” “Thank you!” I said giving him another hug. “Awww, I ship it!” Ava said obviously intrigued “Really!?” I asked, more yelling sarcastically than asking. “Yes really.” “Isn't sarcasm Myah’s thing?” “It is, but I thought maybe I should try it out today.” Just then the bus pulled up and we walked on. I sat next Ava and we ranted about all the movies we could think of.
When we got to school we went to our lockers and met up in the science lab and wanted for class to start. At the beginning of the school year we got to pick our lab partners. I partnered up with Lucas, and Ava partnered up with her other best friend, Lilly, and my best friend Sarah partnered up with Gwen,  Lucas's sister, she stayed back one year which is why we're in the same grade. Riley, Ava’s crush, and Oliver, Sarah’s boyfriend also partnered up. The teacher came in and started today's class, we spent the class period doing research on a famous scientist.  We did our research on Albert Einstein. The teacher said we would have to continue working on it with our partner and that it would be due next Friday, May 12. Luckily we all had the same classes. By we I mean Ava, Lucas, Gwen, Sarah, Riley, Oliver, and I. After science class we had art, spanish, math, history, ELA, and theater. The school day was pretty normal, same as always, work, annoyed teachers, and last but not least, bullies.
The school day was coming to an end. Everyone went to the benches at the main entrance while I got my things from lockers. “Hey loser.” said a voice from behind me. Jessica, the one person that I always try to avoid. She always hurt me in any possible way she could. “Looks like your boyfriend isn't here to protect you.” she said as I turned around to face her. “He's not my boyfriend.” “Really? You two weirdos would be really cute together.” “Please just let me leave.” “No, I think I'm good.” She flew her fist toward my face, hitting my nose. Then I saw Ava turn the hallway with the others behind her, she was worried, so was I. She punched my nose and I couldn't tell but it seemed like it was bleeding.  I wish she would just go away. Then out of nowhere a book came flying and hit Jessica in the head. She was knocked unconscious. I ran over to Ava. “You all saw that right?” they all replied. Lucas hugged me. “I'm so glad you're okay.” We all left and walked back to your house.
