Precent Time
"Don't cry Bella. It's not really goodbye. I'll call you as soon as I land." the voice of the man I fell madly in love with, whispered in my ear.
"Come here." I stepped closer and Adam wrapped me in his arms. All I wanted to do was stay there forever but I knew I would have to leave his warm embrace. The tears couldn't stop. Silent tears kept coming, rolling down my cheeks.
"Come now. I have to go," his gentle words cut threw me like a knife gliding threw soft butter. Pulling away from me, looking into his blue eyes, he covered my mouth with his, kissing me one last time.
This certainly felt like goodbye. Feeling empty, lost and he hasn't left yet.
He turned, walking towards the escalator and stepped onto it. He slowly drifted away. Away from all we shared for the last year.
I couldn't speak. Not one word. I couldn't bare to watch him leave. I turned to walk, no run, from what I didn't quite know.
Pushing threw the revolving doors, I stepped outside into the pouring rain. The rain came down on me as if to wash the hurt, the pain and tears away.
With my hands over my face, the tears seeped through my fingers, dissolving in the rain.
'He never said he'll stay forever. I had to let him go and just remember what we had. I would never stop him from leaving but in my heart I know that love will lead him back to my arms, where he belonged. He loves me that I'm sure of. Even if he never said it. One day we'll find each other again.'
I knew this day of goodbyes was coming but I was always hoping it wouldn't.

"Shit, shit.." cursing under my breath, trying to get my black flat pumps on before leaving home.
Tonight I was serving at a corporate function for the rich and famous and I was gonna be late, again. I hope that Betsie doesn't decide not to start tonight. I needed her to get me to work.
Betsie was my 1990 something Beetle parked on the side of the road.
I needed every waitressing job I could get. I didn't just have my varsity fees to pay but also this shitty flat I was living in.
Some day it will all pay off. I keep on reminding myself. I'll have a decent car, nice flat and a job that I wanted all my life but for now, this was it.
Looking in the mirror cursing again for not looking my best. I put the brush threw my hair, trying to make a bun because that was all I had time for. After that I only had time to put on eyeliner and lipstick. Time was running ahead of me.
I grabbed my backpack and keys, hoping it contained my cell and all the other necessities a young woman needed.
'This is what happens when you trying to juggle more than one job at a time plus studies.'
Thank god that Betsie started the first time of me swinging the ignition.
It wasn't long before I was at the back of the building named, 'Green Enterprises'.
Remembering seeing it being build. It was all glass and steel. Real fancy, modern, state of the art, skyscraper.
When I walked in, all the waitresses was in a huff and puff. Sam, my best friend gave me the eye, telling me I'm late again.
"Where is Bella?!" Paul shouted.
Oh, shit. Paul sounded pissed off.
Paul was my boss who also owned 'HARRY'S Bar' where I work and he also catered for corporate functions.
"I'm here!" I shouted back. Making my presence known.
"You late! Again."
"I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
"Yeh, yeh. Same story just a different day. You must be glad that I like you. Otherwise your ass would have been fired long ago. Now get to work."
Without further ado, I grabbed a tray of champagne, put on a smile and walked into the conference wall.
The conference wall looked spectacular. Drapped with white and black decore. Beautiful women with designer gowns, expensive perfumes floated about, men in their tuxedos looking dashing. The air was full of buzzing with the sound of chatter and laughter until I heard a deep husky voice speaking over the microphone.
"Evening ladies and gentlemen. I would like to welcome you..."
As I turned around to see the face the voice belonged to.
My eyes fell on the most gorgeous speciment of a man. Shit, why was this man allowed to walk the face of the earth. Taking in a deep breath. I couldn't peel my eyes away from him.
He had dark blond hair, the most perfect chizzled face, tall, well build but I couldn't see his eyes. The one thing that I always looked for.
My mom use to say that 'a person's eyes is the window to ones soul.'
His voice kept me in a trance until I heard someone calling for a glass of champagne.
Reluctant to turn away from the man on the stage, I made my way to the lady in red, half heartedly and before I knew what was happening, the tray went flying with me landing next to it.
How the hell did that just happened?
"Fuck," I mumbled under my breath.
This never happens to me. Why tonight of all night's? How could I let a man affect me this way.
Paul was by my side in seconds of me dropping to the floor with the tray. Thank god I only had two champagne glasses left on it.
"What's wrong with you tonight?! Get cleaned up and take a break," Paul instructed.
"I'm... I'm sorry Paul," apologizing once again before I walked out feeling like a complete idiot, leaving the stares of people behind me.
What I needed now was fresh air and a cigarette.
The night air was icy cold. The clouds was still heavy with rain and I shivered as I lit my cigarette. I could still hear that deep husky voice ringing in my ears, sending shivers of a different kind through my body. The tray that fell with me, long time forgotten.

Opening my draw to select a tie, I picked up a silvergrey tie to complete my look. My suite I was wearing was charcoal with a stark white shirt and black dress shoes. I tied my hair to the back, so it could stay out of my face.
Tonight I had to look the part I was playing. I liked having my hair down, untied but it wasn't how big business men carried themselves. Well, I was always one to devy the rules. Cape Town seemed to feel like a layed back city and I was sure it wouldn't have been a problem if I left my hair untied, but I didn't want take that chance. Tonight there would be people from around the world to come and see the latest technology in security systems.
"Sir, are you ready to leave?" Jack asked.
Jack was my right hand man, 24/7. I didn't go anywhere without him. He was my shadow. In this line of business you had to have someone to guard you. Over the five years I've known him, Jack was more than my shadow. He was my friend. Something I never really had.
"I'm ready. Lets go."
When we arrived, most of the guests were present. I made small talk with most of them, introducing myself to the faces I didn't know.
Drinks and snacks was being served and it was time to start my speech. The sooner I started the faster I could get out of here. I never really liked all this big corporate functions but it was part of the job.
"Evening ladies and gentlemen. I would like to welcome you all to the launch of my South African base company. I always had the vision of establishing my security system technology here and I am pleased to have seen my father's dream come true. I wish he was here to see it..."
I was just into my speech when I saw one of the servers standing staring at me.
The way she looked at me was as if she saw a god. No one has ever looked at me like that before and before I knew it, my mouth was moving to what I had to say, but a part of my brain was taking in the tanned skin girl that was gazing at me.
Before I knew it, she turned away and in a split second she tripped and landed on the floor.
I wanted to leap from where I was and rescue the poor girl but I couldn't. I had to finish what I started. Looking away to find Jack, for him to lend a helping hand, I looked back to where she was, but she was gone.
Just like that, gone.
I couldn't wait for this speech to be done with. I had to find out what happened to her and who she was.
