2:47 pm

It was Sunday afternoon, but it was still scalding hot. It felt like the world was stored in a burning oven that I nearly thought I'd turn into piece of roasted meat.

For Christ's sake, I don't want to be barbecued just yet!

I tapped my phone, increasing the volume.

Hello, hello, hello, hello

Hello, hello, hello, hello...

I continued walking, heading in a path which I assumed was leading home. To my oh so boring and pretty fucked up home.

Here we are now,

Entertain us!

Unconsciously, my feet began to tap with the beat as Nirvana's song rang in my eardrums.

Crack!

I stopped abruptly, searching for the source of the sound. I looked down, finding a wooden sign cracked into half under my foot.

Slowly, I raised my foot as I tried to see the words carved on the piece of wood.

"...no tres...passing?" I read aloud.

As if on cue, a cold breeze blew past me, sending shivers down my spine. It was only then when I realized that Nirvana's song had finished, and the player automatically switched to the next song on the list.

Strumming my pain with his fingers,

Singing my life with his words...

The atmosphere felt strange, so I looked up. It was there when I took notice of my unfamiliar surroundings. Instead of a street filled with people, the street I was in was dull and deserted. Buildings were old and abandoned, making this strange town even more eerie and mysterious.

Killing me softly with his song,

Killing me softly, with his song,

Acting on instinct, I turned back, retracing my steps in hopes of finding a familiar road. Out of anxiety, I failed to notice that my mouth was actually singing along with the song.

"...tearing my whole life. With his words, killing me softly. With his so--"

"I see that you've got a good taste in music."

I froze in my tracks. The hell...

Slowly, I turned to the speaker of the voice, fearing for the worst. But when I found a casually dressed man, I sighed in relief.

"Yeah, and you've got a bad habit of scaring the shit outta people." I snapped back.

The man chuckled. "That sounds like you're admitting that you're just a little scaredy-cat."

My blood immediately boiled. "What was that?!"

His smirk grew wider. "Nothing, babe."

Babe?! Seriously?!

I was about to retort when a cold drop suddenly surfaced on my cheek. I looked up to find the skies dimming to gray, signaling an incoming rainfall.

I'm screwed.

"I guess it'll be raining soon." He stated. "Wanna come in?"

I glared at him. "What? Why should I? I don't even know you."

I turned to walk away, when he suddenly spoke.

"Sangwoo." I looked back at him. He was smiling again. "That's my name."

I narrowed my eyes at him. Sangwoo, huh. Pretty weird for a name of a guy with orange hair.

"Tch. Who cares." I walked away, giving him one final glare before disappearing into another alleyway, away from his smirking form.

Damn that smirk.
