Connie Beauchamp and her family

Part 1

For the purpose of this story Zoe and Rita have not left. But Elle is still around.

I walked in the hospital to see every one rushing around. 'Lucy?' I turned saw Duffy, Charlie and Jacob standing there, 'Why are you here, not that I am not happy to see you.' She came up to me and hugged me and whispered in my ear 'It is so good to see you again.'

'You too' I replied.

Charlie said 'Does your mum know you're here.'

I said back 'No but keep it on the down low I don't think many people know about me.'

He came over and hugged me really tight, this is the thing I had missed my like a Grandad giving me hugs, which made everything seem better, even if they weren't able to be fixed for a while. Jacob came over to me and did our handshake then we hugged, we didn't say anything. We pulled apart after a second it was weird.

Just then Connie was coming over. I would recognize that click of labouteins anywhere, the exact same click mine made on the floor, the exact same click I had herd for 3 years of my life when I was young. The exact same click I had been perfecting for a month and had now been hearing for 2 years. 'Charlie, Duffy. Congratulations! I am very happy for you both.'

'Thank you Connie!' they both replied in unison. They all smiled warmly.

I turned around. Connie said 'Jacob can I-' she saw me and knew who I was straight away. 'Lucy.' Pulled me into a hug.

'Hey Mum' I whispered.

She smiled and said 'We will speak later.'

Jacob said 'Hey Con. What did you want me to do for you?'

'Many things Mr. Masters, including doing your job, bay 4, something I think you will find interesting.'

'Ok.'

They walked off together. Laughing at something Jacob had said. 'Mr. Evans. This is Staff Nurse Masters, but you can call him Jacob. He is going to your orbs and check you over while I am doing some work.' Jacob takes the notes, just as Connie smiles to the man and leaves.

She walks out only to see one of the most annoying common faces ever, the face of Henrik Hansen. Her phone started ringing she answered 'hello. Connie Beauchamp speaking' expecting it to be someone from the hospital she listened to the person on the other end of the phone. 'That's amazing, thank you.' She continued. 'I am very proud of her. Thanks again. Bye' She couldn't wipe her smile off of her face.

He is speaking saying 'There is going to be a new face around here. She is smart, young, and is able to work on any ward here.'

'May I continue, I have a feeling I know more about her than you do.' He nodded, she continued 'she has been working her whole life to get to where she is now. She is only 15 and is fully qualified. She was put up 7 years in education because she was so good and working at a so much higher level, so when she was meant to be in year 5 she was doing her GCSE's, year 7 when she was doing her a levels, she has been at med-school for 3 years going above and beyond, doing everything, studding everything available, and the truth is she is really good, better than the best doctors on every ward put together. I will tell you her results in a minute because she doesn't know yet no one does except her med-school and I. Every one meet Lucy Chase.' Just then Jacob walked out and stood with Connie.

'Hello' I came out.

'Would you like to know what she got in her exams'

'Yes because this job is going on her grades mostly.' Henrik said

'Well then be prepared to get blown away... I just got a phone call from the head of the med-school. You are no longer required to go there, as your results are good, but you still need to do some educational bits here because you're not allowed to be out of school yet. Actually they are not good they are phenomenal. Not a single mark wrong in any test. You got the equivalent to an A** in every exam, you got top marks! Well done Miss Chase. Back to work!'

'Looks like I take after my family after all.'

'Yeah looks that way. Well done baby girl.' She whispered in my ear. She kissed my head and continued 'this causes for a celebration, after work, you up for it?' I nodded 'Guys are you?' looking towards the ED staff

They all replied 'Yeah' or 'Sure' in similar timing.

'But I have to warn you guys when Lucy celebrates and we are all there, it is a really good time, so if you can't handle it then you may not want to come.' Connie said while smiling

'Are you kidding of course we will come.' Robyn squealed.

I nodded. Henrik said 'Miss Chase we have to introduce you to all the other departments, even though you won't be working on them as much as you are on the ED, you are still their superiors.'

I said 'okay. I have told the heads of the departments to tell them all that I am going to be up there sometimes in the week. I am staying down here for now. I have some work and catching up to do. Oh and some planning for that meeting tomorrow to do with budget cuts for the ED.'

'What I am medical director, I thought that was my meeting' Sam butted in.

'Yes but as I said earlier Lucy is everyone's superior, even yours, even Mrs. Beauchamp's, even Ms. Naylor's, even myself. Every all four us put together.' Mr. Hanssen said

'Please, there is no way a teenager is better than all four of us put together.' Sam butted in again

'Sam stop! You haven't seen what she can do.' Connie said.

'And u have? ... What the hell Connie!' Sam raised his voice a bit.

'Yes I have, she was speaking medical terms before she was even 5 years old-'

'Back to work everyone' Mr. Hansen interrupted.

Everyone went back and worked for the final hours left of their shifts.
