Love is a Mystery (Shinichi Kudo X Reader)

Hi! I am Shinichi Kudo and you are in my way!

(Y/n) POV:

It was a normal day for me. I was walking home from my school, Teitan Highschool. I arrived at the front door took off my shoes and placed my shoes on the shoe rack.

"Mom! I am home!"

Silence greeted me. I panicked a little. Mom was always here when I got home. I noticed the kitchen lights were turned on. I walked over to the kitchen.

"Mom?" I peeked through the the kitchen door . It was slightly ajar. I saw red liquid on the floor.

"H-hey mom? Is this a prank or did you just spilt the strawberry juice?"

Silence.

"It's not funny anymore!" I exclaimed and burst into the Kitchen. A gruesome sight greeted me. My mom was dead on the floor a knife stabbed through her heart.

"Mom!" I yelled shaking her. I took her pulse too late she's dead.

"No... NO! Mom!" I sobbed and called 119.

"Hello? Police Department."

"Help! My mom has been murdered! Please help her!" I screamed on the phone.

"Pleases give us your address, miss." The police man said seriously. I gave them my address and waited for them patiently. I heard a knock on the door and I answered it.

"Thank goodness! You're finally he-"

Instead of police I was greeted by a high schooler. He was good-looking I gotta admit but he is one of those popular-type. He looks familiar.

"Hi! I am Shinichi Kudo and you are in my way!" He said and pushed me. I landed on the floor.

"Ow...rude much?!" I asked but he either not cared or did not hear. After a few moments he  reappeared. I thought, 'He's finally going to be nice!' Instead he scowled me.

"Are you an idiot?" He asked.

"What?!"

"You moved the body!"

"I thought that she was still alive and I checked her pulse!"

"She's another victim of a serial killing! The clues are important!"

"Excuse me?! My mom is not just 'another victim of a serial killing.' You wouldn't understand how important my mom is to me! Maybe your parents don't give you enough love! Awww... Poor baby Kudo." I insulted him and glared up at him. He was tall and intimidating but I wasn't gonna back down.

"Why you-" he began but I interrupted him.

"You even stick your nose in someone's business! Now, why don't you run back home to your mommy! If she even cares about you!"

"Okay! That's it! Look here you little piece of-"

"Ahem!" We heard a cough behind us and turned toward the sound of his voice. It was a chubby guy in a coat with a matching hat. Behind him there are three police officers.

"Umm... I'll take over from here Shinichi." He said and walked up to me. He eyed my bloody clothes.

"Hello, I am Inspector Megure! And you name is?"

"(L/n), (Y/n) (L/n)."

"(L/n)? The school nerd, who always is locked up in her laboratory doing who-knows-what?" The annoying guy named, Shinichi Kudo said. Then his name clicked. I smirked.

"Now I remember! Shinichi Kudo! What's up! I remember, how you feeling after losing to my team in the Soccer competition?" I asked innocently. He gritted his teeth.

"I am doing fine thank you. How are you feeling after I took your place in the Mystery tour?" He asked. I shot him a look and we glared at each other. You could see the lightning between us.

"Umm...excuse me a murder happened? Your mother died miss (L/n)? Are we supposed to discuss that now?" I felt my stomach drop. I just remembered my situation I bottled up my feelings and forced a smile.

"Y-yes, Inspector!" I said and followed them to the crime scene. They asked me some questions and I answered all of them full of details. He dismissed me and asked me to go to another friend's house to sleep in. I felt a feeling of dread.

"B-but I don't have that much friends in school..." I muttered. Inspector Megure heard and smiled.

"Well, Kudo will be happy to have guests in his home." He said cheerfully.

"What?!" We both yelled at him at the same time. Kudo and I started bickering at one another and all of the officers and the Inspector sweat dropped.
