Oh, Ophelia
You've been on my mind, girl, since the flood
Oh, Ophelia
Heaven help the fool who falls in love
The bell rang as English class ended. The class had been reading aloud Hamlet and the bell had cut off the girl who was reading the part of Ophelia. The girl read the part everyday they had been reading Hamlet because her name was Ophelia too. Ophelia's girlfriend Adelie who sat behind her in class leaned forward in her seat and quietly sang the lyrics of The Lumineers song by the same name as that of her girlfriend. She gave her girlfriend a quick kiss on the back of her neck before jumping up to grab her bag.
It was time for study hall which the two of them had together. As the girls entered the room for study hall, they took their usual seats on the ground behind a wide empty desk across the room from the one the teacher used. Ophelia slipped her hand into her girlfriend's and rested her head on Adelie's shoulder, her lips pressed against her girlfriend's neck. "Read to me," she whispered. Adelie giggled quietly, "That tickles," she whispered back, lowering her chin so that Ophelia could kiss her there. "Give me a kiss" Adelie said "and I'll read you the chapter from this that we have for homework so you don't have to read it for homework." "Sounds like a fair trade" Ophelia said, smiling sleepily. She sat up and turned to face "her girl", as she always affectionately referred to Adelie as. She gave her a long sweet kiss which made both girls hunger for more from each other. They were at school so the two girls had to be content with just a quick kiss and hand holding whenever they got the chance.
Study hall was the most time they got to just enjoy each other's company during the day. The two resumed their handholding as Ophelia returned her head to her girlfriend's shoulder. She closed her eyes as her girlfriend read Shakespeare to her.
