Paige-

"Paige, we got another call from the talent agency," Brooke said. She shoved the home phone into my hand. "Be quick. I need to call Nolan back," She said impatiently. She tapped her foot on the hardwood floor. I began to go through the contacts, looking for California Talent Agency's number.

"Then go find a phone booth. There's 4 people in this house."

Brooke rolled her eyes before going back down the hall to her room. I sat back down on the worn-out, maroon couch and dialed the number. After a few rings, the receptionists cheery voice filled the room. "Hello! Welcome to California Talent Agency! Who would you like to speak to?" She asked.

"It's Paige Hyland. I got a call earlier," I said.

"Oh, yes! I'll put you on with Mr. Tabith," The receptionist chirped. After a few seconds, Mr. Tabith's voice filled the phone.

"Ah, Paige! Just the girl I've been waiting for," His voice boomed.

I smiled. "Hey, Mr. Tabith. What did you need? My sister had 4 missed calls."

"Well... I need you to come down to the office," He said.

"Okay. What time?" I asked.

"Hmm.. As soon as you can. I have another client that's waiting for you, and she can't wait all day," He said.

"Okay. Bye, Mr. Tabith."

I hung up the phone and stood up. "Brooke!" I called. Her footsteps echoed down the hall until she stood in front of me. She reached out for the home phone, until I pulled it over her head. I was taller than her by 5 inches, and my arms towered over her. "Paige!" She whined.

"I need you to take me to the Agency," I said.

She sighed. "Can't you take the bus? I don't want to drive the family car. It's disgusting," She said.

"I can't drive yet, if you didn't notice," I rolled my eyes.

She sighed again. "Fine." She grabbed a set of car keys off the coffee table. "Lets go."

I tossed the home phone back on the couch. "Josh! We're leaving!" I yelled. "'Kay!" He yelled back. I followed Brooke out the door to the old family car. Since Mom normally had to work to support all four of us, she had her own car that she was always using. When she realized that Brooke, Josh, and I needed a car, too, she bought an old, used one that she named the 'family car'. Josh normally was the only one who used it, though, because Brooke thought it was gross and I couldn't drive yet.

I got into the passenger seat and buckled up. Brooke slowly slid into the drivers seat and shoved the keys into the ignition. "You so owe me," She said. She shoved a hamburger wrapper (curtesy to Josh) off the dashboard and began to back out of the driveway. "You really need some friends to drive you places."

"I can barely get friends my age, Brooke. What makes you think I can get some older person to be my friend?"

"I have an idea. Be cool and don't wear glasses."

I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. After about 10 minutes, Brooke pulled into the Agency parking lot and I got out of the car. I hurried into the building and went up to the front desk. The perky receptionist smiled at me. "You're Paige, right?" She asked. I had been here tons of times, but she still always asked if my name was Paige.

"Yep," I said, popping the 'p'. She picked up her phone and clicked one number. She held it up to her ear. "Mr. Tabith, Paige is here," She said. Her normally happy tone became monotone as she spoke. "Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I'll send her in, sir," She said. She set the phone back in it's holder and smiled at me. "You can go in!"
