*Fifteen years ago*
"Once upon a time and the early years of London, lived a girl named Wendy. She and her two brothers Michael and John lived in the nursery of their home, where Wendy told her brothers stories of Peter Pan, every night. One night as their parents set off to go to a party, her father announced, much to Wendy's heartbreak that when come morning, she would have to grow up and leave the nursery. She cried herself to sleep that night and as she dreamt, a familiar stranger was watching her as he set upon his quest to find his lost shadow.
As the familiar stranger searched throughout the nursery, he found his lost shadow hidden in a locked drawer opposite Wendy's bed. As he struggled to get his lost shadow out, the familiar stranger knocked over the drawer, making it crash down into the red carpet floor, making a loud bang. So loud, it woke Wendy from her slumber, she sat straight up in bed, as she looked around confused from sleep.
Turning up the lantern that rested beside her bed on the small table, it lit up the room and exposed the familiar stranger who hid his lost shadow behind his back as he looked at the young girl.
Wendy's eyes widened as she realised who the familiar stranger was, "Peter Pan!" She grinned with delight as she pushed the blankets off her and jumped out of bed.
Peter Pan backed into the wall behind him, still with his shadow in his hands, behind his back as Wendy approached him until she was standing directly in front, mere inches from his toes.
"Are you frightened of me?" she questioned as she smiled at the handsome dark blonde haired boy that stood before her like a dream come true.
"Me? Scared of you? Don't be ridiculous" he scoffed in mock amusement.
"Of course. That is ridiculous" Wendy giggled, "after all you fight pirates and Indians. You're not scared of anything."
"Exactly!" Peter smirked, his beautiful green eyes sparking.
"What are you hiding behind your back?"
Wendy asked as she looked behind his shoulder and noticed something fluttering on the wall.
"My stupid shadow! It got separated when I was listening to your stories and the window slammed shut when my shadow was inside" Peter said as he brought his shadow around to show Wendy.
"Oh goodness! Let me sow it back on" she smiled as she picked up the fallen drawer then open it, she noticed there was sparking light inside the drawer, but she ignored it as she quickly grabbed the needle and thread and shut the drawer, not wanting to have her back turned on Peter Pan for to long, in case he disappeared and wasn't there when she turned around.
Much to her delight, he was there when she turned around, "It won't take long but it may hurt" she smiled as she held up the needle and thread.
Peter eyed them warily as the needle sparked in the light, when he turned his attention back to Wendy, he planted a smirk on his face, to hide his concern.
"Sure" he smirked as he sat on her bed, dragging his shadow with him.
They didn't say anything as Wendy sewed the shadow into Peter's bare feet. It hurt him but he held his pain and only whinged quietly to himself when he thought Wendy was too focused on her task to notice.
After a few minutes, she placed the needle down and smiled up at him, "All done."
Peter stood up from the bed and walked over to the wall. Much to his surprise and delight, his shadow was once again attached to him.
