It was late afternoon in early spring, about quarter to four. The sun had already started to go down and the dreary grey day turned into the dreary grey night.

Sat outside the back door of Rosewood High was high school senior Paris Boyer. His period of relaxation in this spot had turned into a routine for him, something he did every day after school as he waited for his best friend, Jackson Wrangler. He enjoyed the fact that the door was never used and he could sit in peace, watching the sky turn over the dark woods which occupied the back yard of the high school.

Paris reached into his pocket and pulled a cigarette out of it's case. He brought his fingers up to the end and snapped, sparking a fire. He took a long drag, blowing the smoke into the air.

There were about ten witches and warlocks at the high school, they all knew who each other were, but none of them spoke of what they could do. Paris, for one, chose to avoid them all together, much like he avoided the rest of the school, or rather, the rest of the school avoided him. He had never been exactly a 'people person' so he did his best to push everyone who approached him away. It worked quite effectively for everyone except for Wrangler.

The feeling of peace, along with Paris' train of thought was disturbed by the sound of somebody opening the door. Paris turned his head, expecting to see Wrangler, but instead coming face to face with the prettiest boy in his school, Jaedyn Miller.

"You know there's no smoking on school grounds, right? You could get in trouble for that" Jaedyn said flatly. Paris found it rather rude that his greeting didn't contain the word  'hello', but he wasn't exactly the guy to be judging others on their lack of formality.

"What are you gonna do, pretty boy? Tell on me?" Paris questioned, a low chuckle escaping his lips "I've never been caught, because nobody ever comes out here. Which brings me to the question, why are you here?" He asked, blowing a puff of smoke into his face.

Jaedyn made a face, waving away the smoke in disgust "no, I wasn't planning on 'telling on you'" he used air quotations "I was just informing you of the rules. And I came out here to get some fresh air away from the crowd, obviously something I'm apparently not going to recieve" he said, motioning to Paris' cigarette.

"Then perhaps you should get on with your business and leave me alone" Paris said coldly, sure, he had a crush on this boy since the ninth grade, but he didn't flirt, and he didn't make friends.

Their conversation was cut short by the door flying open. Six foot tall captain of the football team Wrangler came through the door with shy little witch Ishanvi Kaleka. Quite the pair. "Hey Wrangler, hey flowers" he greeted the two, he'd nicknamed Kaleka flowers when she had interrupted him trying to raise the dead, causing a Daisy patch to appear from the ground instead.

Jackson grinned "great, you two already know eachother" he said happily.

Ishanvi waved to the group "hello" She said shyly, before taking in a breath and sneezing. Flowers flew everywhere.

Paris took in Jackson and Jaedyn's faces and swallowed nervously, looking to Ishanvi in frustration "Kaleki... what in hell have you just done?" He asked in shock
