"Oh," I suck in a breath, then I crack a smile. "I'm dying, that's just so great, grand even, wow. Could life get any better?" I question to the doctor, as tears steam down my face.

The doctor, around forty with grey streaks overcoming the majority of his chestnut hair, looks awkward. His previous calming smile, now a grimace.

I hastily wipe them, not wanting to show weakness, and smile. Though I could feel even in my perplexed state of mind it looked like one of a prisoner. One trapped in their own body. Unable to scream and cry. Pounding on the soundproof walls. Trying with all your might to be saved. Even when it's a known lost cause.

"Thank you, f-for bringing this to my attention, I'm going to get going now." I sputter out as I fly out the door, and down the hallway.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Well, the more you know. I swipe the traitorous tears away so quickly it's like they were never there. But I knew. I have to get out of here. I can't stay here anymore.
