Emerald could see why Draco got mad at Harry. She couldn't, however, see why he stormed towards him after Hagrid sung as many praises as he knew and insulted Buckbeak. He was stupid to think that after he'd bowed and allowed him to pet him that he wouldn't care about any abuse thrown at him. At first, Em thought Draco deserved the gash that he had been awarded with for his mindless behaviour - 'it's nothing Madam Pomfrey couldn't fix,' she thought - but Em still couldn't help feeling sorry for the foolish boy. Until she went to the Hospital Wing and visited him.

Emerald had to wait three hours and thirty-seven minutes until she could see Draco... Not that she was counting; glancing at the clock every minute; nervously biting her nails till they were stubby and wrongly shaped; pacing back and forth in the common room, irritating both Theo and Blaise to no end; thinking about all the possibilities about what could have happened - 'why hasn't he been let out yet? Surely all Madam Pomfrey had to do was use a spell to heal the wound, what if it was worse than it looked? What if Hagrid gets fired? What if Draco needs proper care? What if this is something that needs to be taken to St Mungo's? What if he dies?' - were all feasible explanations to why he'd taken a tad longer than usual, making Em more confused - why was she worrying so much about someone she was only 'friends' with because of a bet?
At fifteen minutes she was in potions and worrying her head off to Blaise.
At twenty minutes, at his request, Snape swapped Blaise with a Slytherin girl Em hadn't been acquainted with.
At thirty-five minutes Emerald started to write all her worries onto her parchment because they were all clouding her thoughts too much.
At forty-five minutes Snape read them out to the whole class, which officially let Ron know that Emerald cared about Draco.
At one hour the class was dismissed and Emerald made her way to the hospital wing.
At one hour and two minutes she was denied access because Madam Pomfrey was still working on Draco, so Em went back to the common room.
At one hour and fifteen minutes Theo cast a silencing charm on Em because her seemingly constant distress made the remaining boys agitated.
At one hour and seventeen minutes she was broken from that spell as Em had kicked him so much a bruise might've formed if she went on.
At one hour and thirty minutes Em face-planted onto the sofa to ramble into a pillow.
Emerald fell asleep from one hour and thirty seven minutes to two hours and when she woke up she started to worry even more because Draco still hadn't been let out.
